Exceeded My Expectation
This portable sonar fish finder works very well. The value for the money is excellent! It is very easy to use. Out of the box, the default setting is on metric units (meters & Celsius for depth and water temperature). If you want imperial units (feet & Fahrenheit), just change it in the menu so that it defaults to imperial units. Using it out on the lake a second time so far, it seems to be accurate (comparing it with the a depth map that I have of the lake) and pretty good at identifying the locations of fish (I know because I felt many bites on my fishing line and had bait on the hook eaten, but no catches). Accessories (besides the floating sensor) such the USB charger cord, wall outlet adapter plug, cigarette lighter adapter, carry strap, and a small mounting bracket for mounting it on a boat or kayak. I chose to use the carry strap and not use the mounting bracket. The screen is small, but it's sufficient for my use. The graphics of the multicolor version of this fish finder are good. I like that it allows you flexibility to set it to display the raw sonar image or allow it to display fish (small, midsized, and large) locations by interpreting the sonar feedback. Out of the box, it defaults to display fish graphics on the screen (I chose to keep the default setting because I don't want the hassle of trying to interpret raw sonar images on the screen). I'm very happy with this fish finder, but admit that I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the previous reviews. My review is from a standpoint of a person who just fishes for personal enjoyment (and also for meals when I catch fish) during my free time. I'm not using this fish finder for commercial purposes and do not fish in any tournaments.

Awesome fish finder
This fish finder is very impressive. Right out of the box, it worked great. In using the manual the set up was very easy. I love the color screen and the way the unit displays to bottom contour. Although the screen is small, the display is very easy to read. I love the depth display. The total depth from the surface to the bottom is on the right side and is very easy to read. The actual depth is displayed in the upper left corner in bright black numbers. Awesome! . Everything worked great. I had some time to play with it and was amazed at how accurate the unit is. What I really liked was the readout for passing fish. It not only gives you the size but the depth. And with knowing the depth you can fish at that depth and catch more fish. I speak from experience. I even trolled with it. The unit kept up very well with no problem. Even at the 5mph maximum the Lucky Fish Finder kept up. If you want a portable fish finder that meets your needs on the water, the Lucky Fish Finder is for you. Love it.

Pretty nice compact finder
Overall this product has been helpful and I am happy with its performance. I use it while fishing from my kayak and it has been helpful to have. The PROS: It is easy to set up, It displays depth, fish and water temperature, battery life has been great. The CONS: It is difficult to view while paddling the kayak, the cords and components are a bit unwieldy in a kayak. I fish pretty much exclusively on lakes that are 50 acres and smaller. For those bodies of water it has been very helpful to see the water temperature and depths. I am not sure how it would perform on a reservoir.

Does exactly what its supposed to do
This fish finder does work. I bought it for the depth finder for my jet ski since the reviews were mixed on the fish finder capabilities. It could have been dumb luck but I tested a few scenarios as follows in port o'connor, texas, where the water is not clear by any means. (Salt water, sandy/mud bottom, in the bay, 3ft-15ft depth) 1: first time in water with it I just sat in the channel at a depth maps showed to be 15ft. The actual depth was 14.3 ft. Must be correct. I then get the sensitivity to the lowest setting to only show large fish. Nothing for 5 minutes... then it showed a school of "large fish" on the display. Sure enough a pod of bottle nose dolphins surfaced about 10 feet from the jet ski. When they left it didn't show any fish. 2. Same spot as #1 I switched the sensitivity to the middle setting. It started to show fish more frequently. I tossed some shrimp on my hook and sunk it. Every single time it showed a school of small fish I would hook onto a damn hard head and when it showed medium I hooked a gafftop cat. Unfortunately it was not a great fishing day by any means so I didn't get to test out for trout or reds. The device does seem to be accurate if you dial in the sensitivity to your area. It's good for schooling fish, I am unsure if it would detect a fish like kings or cobia. Glad I made the purchase.

Worked great 2 times
Iโd give it 5 starts for price and quality for the first and second time I used it. 3rd time the screen went out. I had high hopes and maybe I got a bad cable inside or something but Iโm disappointed at this point. It never got wet or dropped I put back in a dry bag the whole time so idk what happened but it was cheap and we get what we pay for I guess. Definitely liked it when it worked but not now unfortunately.

Lasted well for a couple years ... now very flaky
After 3 years, my unit is very flaky. About half the time it won't any readings. I have to spend a lot of time positioning the sensor and then it will work for a while. Or I have to unplug and plug it in again to the main unit a number of times. Very frustrating. When it works it seems to work well ... for a while. Then it stops showing the depth and sensing fish again. The sensor does not open up so I can't check if the connections are frayed or whatever. It's almost so useless at this point that it's tempting to see if I can be pry it open. The yellow float somehow got some water in it, but not a lot so at least it still functions at a float. It does hold a charge for many hours, so that works. The flap to cover the sensor connection broke off after about a year. I use it in saltwater environments about 10 times a summer.

Does it's job and easy to use
Took this baby out for a test drive on a salt water fishing trip and i was completly satisfied with the results it is realy easy to use just plug in the sensor and place it in the water (you can cast it out but you run the risk of dislogging the stopper from the float) and watch the fish pass by so you know exactly where to cast your hook. I like that you can set the device to the size of fish as well (small, medium & large fish). The battery last for the 10hours that we were out at sea and still had charge remaining when we were done. I do recommend that you put silicone or electric tape around the seam of the device and use some dielectric greese on the connections or get yourself a waterproof case or bag to put the monitor in to reduce the risk of water getting into the monitor. Overall it is a good fish finder, easy to use, long battery life and the price is not bad either.

Very easy to use and gives clear results.
I was looking for a fish finder for an upcoming trip. After searching for a bit, I opted to get this one, both for the rechargeability, and the details it seemed to be able to produce. Unit arrived promptly, complete with both car and wall adapters for charging, and a wrist strap to keep from accidently losing it over the side of your boat. It has a simulation mode so you can see what type of info you'll be getting. Off to the local waterfront, to give it a try. The picture shows a very clear fish 1.2 meters down. Water temperature, and overall depth are shown, and the system will auto scale based on the actual depth up to 100 meters. it's got a long cable, so you can, if you wanted, lower it off a bridge, or toss it out a bit further from shore or the boat to get an idea where to cast. Overall, I'm very happy with this unit and what it can do, especially at the price - I has prepared to settle for less, but this unit exceeded my expectations. *Note - edited to correct an error - it reads down to 100 meters, not 100 feet*

easy to use, portable
Its an awesome little unit for the price. I question accuracy of detecting fish. seems to throw a lot of false positives. great for finding depth of water and shelves in the lake though. perfect for my little inflatable boat.
