You Hold Me Up

I like to order some books for a library at a school that they normally wouldn’t order. The teachers loved this as the kids really responded to the message the book presented. More to learning than just academic subjects. Life has changed so much in past decades that so much more thrust upon young ones. I think anything that makes things more helpful in navigating world is great!

This book is an absolute delight to read with children or really anyone special in your life. It shows the many ways we can hold each other up in our homes and communities. With simple text and the repetition. If the phrase “You hold me up,” readers will feel the sense of love and caring the author was sharing.

This is a beautiful story for all ages. Colorful illustrations. Heartwarming. Touching. Native children featured. Added this to a church library and would definitely buy to give as a gift.

A charming book with a wonderfully affirmative message and delightful illustrations. I was first introduced to it by a librarian who used it as the text for her address to the Friends of the Library. I have since used it at meetings and bought copies for friends. This is not just for kids -- its for everyone who enjoys a "feel good" image.

ALL CLASSROOMS SHOULD HAVE THIS BOOK!

I gave this book to my son for his first birthday. I haven't read it to him yet but I tear up when I read it myself. Such a lovely story that captures the love and warmth of family. highly recommend!!

Lovely sweet story. I am so happy to see First Nations families and children doing regular stuff like it is totally normal not just a book written to tell white kids about First Nations- It was written and illustrated to let First Nations kids see their own life in a book!! well done.
