I’m a public school teacher turned homeschool mom. I include that to say that I do have some knowledge of a quality textbook. I am using this as guided practice with my kindergartner. I purchased this book to help keep us on track for this school year. The book provides checklists and definitions at the beginning of each chapter for the teacher which will be a good refresher if you’re teaching your kiddo something you haven’t formally practiced since being in school yourself. The activities look simple, but are effective in teaching the principal. There’s also multiple opportunities for practice on any given principle. There’s a review at the end of each chapter that could be done independently to see if a concept has been mastered. I am excited to dive into this book with my student!

The Spectrum brand of school books are great. They introduce everything your child needs to know and gives great examples.

This book is incredibly thorough; all of the reading passages and exercises are in one convenient location. It also offers a good range of activities. Ideal for me to select from as I choose the activities for my third-grade class. I have utilized it for early finishers, morning work, homework, a mini-unit on reading biographies, and exam preparation. What a treasure of a book!

Good and helpful

This is a good book for spiral learning. As a former teacher I feel it is best paired with another program. This is my first year using it. I don't think I will use it next year, but it was a good foundation for my 1st grader.

This is a great book to introduce the elements of grammar. After reading over the instructions my son does really well completing the work himself.

Used it for homeschooling. It’s perfect.
