Q: are there 100 tags in this item? it's not clear.

Hi, I agree the description is bad, this is a box of 100, or at least it was when we ordered them. Amazon should sort this out so that it's clear. What I will add is that the product its self is very good and serves our purpose well.

They are all blue! I thought I was buying all colour, didn't read properly.

Q: how do you open these key rings up to access the tag inside

It's a bit of a knack but if you look at the blue rectangle bit inside the raised outline of the tag (I think on the side shown as in the picture) there is a little cut-on near the actual key ring. You have to lever this up either with a fingernail or maybe a small pair of scissors. The flat blue inner bit then pops up and the paper label tag will fall out. You can write on the tag and then just put it back and press back into place. I asked the same question to start with and took a while to work this out! But it's easy when you finally figure it out.
