RMS Premium 7-Piece Hip & Knee Kit with Short & Long Reacher Grabbers

I had hip replacement and this has been the perfect kit. It has 2 grabbers, one long and one short, this helps when one falls on the floor and you need the other to pick it up. The leg lifter is great because it has a wire in it that makes the loop stay open so it’s easy to put your foot in it to lift it into bed or out of bed. I purchased another kit where this item did not have wire in it and it was very hard to put your foot in the loop without help or raising your body past 90 degrees to get your foot in it. The shoe horn is the right length even though I haven’t used it because I’m still homebound and wearing crocs. The sponge on a stick has been very helpful trying to do the bottom half of my surgical leg and foot. Sponges or loofahs in other kits were too short to do much good. The dressing stick has been immensely helpful in taking socks off and is coated in plastic so you don’t injure yourself. Last but not least the item that helps you put socks on is perfect. This kit costs more than some, but totally worth it as all items are functional and useable.

I'm almost a week out of hip replacement surgery and this kit has been a lifesaver. I've used everything that came in it, and I don't know what I would have done without the leg lifter. Having two reachers had also been great because I can take one with me as I move around while leaving the other at the "home base" I set up for myself in a comfortable chair. Definitely recommend, and a much better value than buying things individually.

This is a great kit! A much better value than what they offered at the hospital. Reacher-grabbers: incredibly useful, loved the two different sizes. I carried the shorter one in my walker bag so it was always easily available. The larger one I kept in the kitchen for longer reaches. Shoe horn: very easy to use, was extremely helpful in getting my shoes on. I still use it as I haven't gotten my flexibility back yet (six weeks post op) Sponge: not so great. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The plastic ripped a hole through the middle of the sponge the first time I used it. Not well made. Leg lifter: strong, easy to use, way more helpful than the belt the physical therapist gave me. This tool is amazing. I am not a lightweight but was able to easily lift my leg with this tool. Sock tool: awesome and amazing!!! So easy to use. Large socks, small ankle socks, it worked with all. Clothes hook: also a lifesaver. Was so easy to use. I would put my shorts or undergarments on the floor, step into the holes, and use the hook to pull up. Didn't have to bend down at all. Just be careful with the hook. I did poke a hole in one pair of undergarments because they were stuck under my foot when I pulled up. Overall: if you having a hip replacement or any surgery where bending would be difficult, this will be an extremely useful kit. I think it would be useful for anyone with physical limitations. I will be keeping all of the tools because I can see them being useful as I age. I highly recommend this kit!!!!

Excellent 7 piece self care set for limited mobility. The pieces are of great quality, sturdy and easy to use. The set includes a long shoehorn, long handled bath sponge, dressing stick, sock assist and 2 different sized reaching tools.

I had knee replacement surgery in September. I really didn’t know what to expect but I bought this kit after the surgeon’s office recommended I have one. They didn’t recommend this particular one (they did not specify any specific brand) but it had such high reviews that I thought it would be a good choice. Truth be told I really didn’t think I’d use a good deal of it but it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Right from the start I found the grabbers to be super useful. They’ve got a good grip so they rarely dropped items. I found them very useful for grabbing my pants and bunching the leg up to slide them on as well as grabbing my shoe and angling it so I could slip my foot in easier. I know it came with a dressing stick and shoe horn but I really preferred the grabbers instead. I used the shoe horn twice but it really didn’t help as much as the grabber for me (I was able to angle the shoe as well as hold the back so I could slip my foot in without crushing the back). I didn’t use the dressing stick really at all. Aside from the two handy grabbers, I got a lot of use out of the leg mover. I really thought that out of all of the items I would use that one the least if at all. Boy was I wrong! About 2 days post surgery my quad absolutely quit on me. It was very bruised and strained by the surgery (a result of the tourniquet I’m told) and it just got to the point where it couldn’t move well. The leg mover really helped with that. I also had a lot of pain in my knee trying to get up off of the bed and the leg mover supported the knee when I swung it off of the bed to lessen the pain. The quality seems very good and sturdy. I’ve moved past needing the leg mover but I’m still using the longer grabber. I have a second knee replacement in my near future and am confident that this set will hold up to use a second time. I highly recommend this set for anyone having a knee replacement surgery.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I didn't think I need all these items, however I was mistaken. After the surgery had needs I didn't anticipate. This package covered everything! Don't question if its worth it, IT IS WORTH IT!

Wow! These tools have been amazingly helpful in my recovery from hip replacement surgery. The grabbers are absolutely remarkable. They pick up any object, no matter how small, on the first try. I just tested their limits, and I picked up a sewing needle and then a dime from both a carpet and the bare floor on the first try. (Apparently, there are a lot of poor-quality grabbers out there. Not these!) The leg-lifter is top-quality and has been essential in helping me get into and out of the car, my bed, etc. In the photo, it looks like it's just a floppy loop of webbing, but it is actually stiffened with strong wire and is very easy to use and effective. The clothing hook is super-useful when I'm dressing. I'm in sandals, so I haven't used the sock thing or the shoe horn yet. But the bath sponge on a stick is helpful for reaching my feet in the shower, since I'm not able to bend much yet. I'm so glad I made this purchase!
