• Formed in 1976 in Edinburgh, Scotland, John Peel favourites The Rezillos were viewed as a punk act simply because they emerged at a specific time in the history of rock. But there was so much more to The Rezillos and their music. Branding themselves a “new wave beat group”, The Rezillos’ music lacked the nihilism and social commentary of many of their counterparts, replacing this with an irreverent glam rock image and a love of science fiction, B-movie, comic book and campy girl group iconography that set them apart from their musical peers. • Initially performing mainly ‘50s and ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll covers at their live shows, Rezillos guitarist and future Human League band member – Jo Callis - began penning their own original songs, and soon after came the release of their highly acclaimed debut LP, Can’t Stand The Rezillos, contained here. • This classic album is now available in this collectable 2CD digipack release, together with their famous live recording from the Glasgow Apollo on 23rd December 1978 – released at the time under the name of “Mission Accomplished… But The Beat Goes On”. • Not only does Flying Saucer Attack contain these two great recordings, but the package also includes all the B-sides and rarities from the band’s first stint as The Rezillos between 1977 and 1979.

Can't Stand The Can't Stand Brigade - Don't Be A Can't!
ok, we'll start with the footery bits that are getting (me down) everyone so worked up. the missing reprisals, the few missing spoken words and the missing intro/theme, that they have no right over! well, rest assured, i'm currenty rounding up the villagers, passing out the pitchforks and the 'how to disembowel' manuals, and lighting the torches, because someone will have to pay for this - never mind the other 108 minutes of rezilloic juiciness! so someone dropped the ball! i'm willing to wager it was a human!for me, it takes nothing away from this superb package which forms a huge slice of my youth - the rezillos were the first band I ever saw in performance, and subsequently many more times in that time frame, then when they turned revillo, and even fairly recently (ain't lost it!).this collection roughly comes in 3 chunks, the first disc containing the almost perfect debut album and one of the greatest ever opening salvos of singles (a and b sides). disc two consists of the Apollo farewell concert and a couple of extra alternative versions, and is the only rezillos vinyl I don't possess - I unloaded it about a week after release, as at the time I felt it was a poor reflection on the blistering show that it was. but, on reflection again, not having heard it since then, I have to say it has aged very well...gimme a break, it was nearly forty years ago! as we knew the event was being recorded for release, we all did our best to shout out slogans during the (infrequent) quieter moments, with the bizarre notion that we might 'appear' on the record - of course, we didn't, but it was a great night!'can't stand the rezillos' is a towering triumph of beat punk pop, (delete where applicable) an album that sounds so fresh it could be recorded tomorrow. there's not a thing wrong with it! simple as... nor is there anything awry (i'm not going there!) with the sublime first four singles, both sides of which were classic, and they will always be an integral part of my collection - special records!so, to be honest, if the 2nd disc had been blank it would still be a five star package - so easy to buy, so easy to enjoy - don't sweat the small stuff!

Can stand The Rezillos...very much so!
I bought this to replace my Can't Stand the Rezillos album, because on that, my favourite track, Destination Venus, had a defect in it. Part way through, it sounded like it had been recorded directly from a chewed up cassette. Now I'm happy to listen to it in its flawless form,as it should be! As for this album package.. Aesthetically wonderful, acoustically perfect. In the punk heyday, The Rezillos shone as the lighter side of punk, and as accomplished musicians. This package contains the (up to the brilliant, recent Zero) only studio album, and their superb live album, and some bonus tracks. It rocks at a pace, and just makes you happy! Well worth the investment. The Rezillos were and are, one of the outstanding punk bands. They were great as The Revillos too. Now, if you haven't yet bought Zero ( and any Rezillos fan will already have it)... buy it, along with this fine package. You can't not do!

Best album ever made
If you’ve never heard this album or the Rezillos then you have never lived, to those wondering if it is just a loud noise, no it isn’t, well crafted songs including some covers of older songs too, the music, vocals and lyrics complement one another incredibly well, this album will put a smile on your face, it just lifts the spirit, it is not full of bag language either, they are better than that. For the money being asked for this album you would be a fool not to buy it, it won’t cure ills and nonsense like that, but it will put a huge smile on your face and you will sing along, it’s not easy singing and smiling at the same time, but you will became a natural at it, click buy now and enjoy some of the best music ever made, you won’t regret it.

Glad All Over
At last! The release I’ve been waiting for. The first two albums plus all the singles and b sides from the 70’s era.I already had the albums on CD but with this package I get to replace all my old 7” singles as well. And they sound great here!To be honest I could have done without another copy of ‘Mission Accomplished..’ because let’s face it, it’s not a particularly great live album. Fay Fife has a fantastic voice but sounds terrible in places on their 2nd ( supposedly last) album! However, everything else is pure gold ...mostly. I love this band, have seen them at least a dozen times over the years and they are still a fantastic live act to this day. This is an essential purchase imho, one of the best value tenners I’ve ever spent. Also worth checking out is ‘Zero ‘,the bands 2nd studio album from 2015 which contains plenty of new Rezillos classics. All I need now is a new Rezillos live album and/or a dvd. There’s not much officially released product out there. A crying shame as The Rezillos are one of the finest, most entertaining bands to emerge from the late 70’s punk/ new wave era.5 stars for this one though, no question!

Superb
At last. What I've been waiting for. All they recorded for sire. Had to make do with (the almost complete) till now. I have loved this group since I saw them supporting the famines. Way back when. Both cd's are ace. They mix cover versions with their own songs with ease. Without a duff track. The live CD gives a great impression of how they were live. Ace!. This CD is totally recommended. Only one slight grumble. They recorded a few radio sessions. Where are these now? Love to have them released sometime. To sum up BUY this. No disappointment to you
