Surprisingly Great for Winter Riding with Proper Layering
The **LM Motorcycle Riding Jacket with Mesh CE Armor and Detachable Thermal Liner** has been a solid piece of gear, especially during colder months. With the right layers, it performs better than expected in winter conditions. **Cold Weather Performance:** On its own, it’s a mesh jacket, but **with the thermal liner installed and layered with flannel and long johns**, it works great for winter riding. It blocks wind well enough and retains heat when layered properly, making it far more versatile than a typical warm-weather jacket. **Protection & Fit:** The included **CE armor** fits well and stays in place, providing confidence without feeling bulky. The jacket fits comfortably over layers without restricting movement on the bike. **Versatility:** The detachable thermal liner makes this jacket useful across multiple seasons. Remove the liner for warmer weather, add it back with layers for cold rides — very flexible depending on conditions. **Build Quality:** Stitching, zippers, and materials all feel durable and well-made. After regular use, everything has held up nicely. **Final Verdict:** If you’re willing to **layer up with flannel and long johns**, this jacket is **great even in winter**. Solid protection, good versatility, and excellent value for the price. A reliable jacket for riders who want one piece of gear that can handle multiple seasons.

Well worth the price
Extremely surprised with the quality. For a price way less than I was finding on motorcycle stores, this 2 piece riding jacket is awesome. With the liner, it is comfortable down to about 50 degrees f with just a long sleeve shirt under. Warmer days, just take out the liner and the air flow is awesome. Have not ridden on "hot days" yet with it. I imagine it may be a little warm, though. Size fits well. 2 large outside pockets for your stuff or hands and one high chest pocket for phone or incidentals. Shoulder, elbow and back protection sit well and where they should.

Love the jacket
Love it, it fits perfectly. Not much for pocket space, but that will be the only downfall for it... Now I just need the weather to break so I can take it for a spin.

Very nice jacket
I have to say I'm impressed. My old Joe Rocket mesh jacket has finally worn out, faded out and has never really fit great. This ILM in the Large size fits me perfect. I followed the sizing instructions provided on the site. I'm 6'1" 180# and my biggest problem with shirts and jackets, motorcycle or not, is the sleeve length where I wear a 27" sleeve. On the JR I had to go to an XL to get sleeves long enough. This caused the rest of the jacket to fit too loose. The elbow armor flopped around because it was so loose on me. The ILM is the only jacket I found that had long sleeves in the large size (26.8"). Most jackets I looked at only had sleeves around 25-26" and yes, that makes a big difference. Those manufacturers that have Tall sizes typically have them under the "Big and Tall" category which makes them way too baggy. Additionally, the Large ILM has a 29" length back which also fits my torso perfectly when riding. Comparing this $90 jacket to my old $200 Joe Rocket jacket, which is still around $200: The JR has an additional sleeve adjustment at the elbow. The JR has a small exterior pocket near the left shoulder that was a great place to keep an emergency info card, though the ILM has a nice large interior pocket in the same area. The JR uses snaps instead of velcro at many adjustment areas. Velcro tends to lose it's "stickiness" over time. The ILM claims a CE level back protector. The old JR appears to simply have a foam back protector. The JR has a collar snap to fully close the neck. The ILM doesn't. I never used it, but it's there. The JR has pants connectors at the lower back. The ILM doesn't. I never used them, but they're there. The liners are virtually identical except that the JR's quilted liner is removable from the rain liner, while the ILM's are stiched together. I used the rain liner by itself many times as it was often enough in slightly cooler weather which I won't be able to do with the ILM. I do long distance riding and I only take a mesh jacket when traveling. Layered up or with heated gear keeps me plenty warm. Both jackets weigh exactly the same with the armor and liners installed. (Note: The back protector wasn't installed on receiving, but that just took a minute. The easiest way to install the back pad is to roll it into a circle, then push the bottom section in first, then the top. I know, easier said than done, but that's how it worked on the JR and it works on this one.) Now for a couple of negatives: It arrived in a small box that didn't look like it could contain a full-sized jacket. It did, but the plastic product bag was wrapped over and over in packing tape, apparently to compress it to fit in the box. Not wanting to destroy the product bag in case I needed to return the jacket for some reason, I carefully removed all this packing tape, which took be about 15-20 minutes along with my many not so nice comments. Packing tape really sticks well to plastic bags! The other negative is the way the liner sleeves attach to the jacket. Instead of using snaps like the JR the ILM uses buttons which go through loops made of stretchy material. I actually like the buttons better because the snaps would often come apart when removing the JR jacket. But the buttons are very difficult to get to and require taking off the jacket so you can use both hands to pull the sleeves almost inside-out to get to the buttons. They're buried pretty far inside the sleeves. On the JR I could do what I needed with one hand while still wearing the jacket. Bottom Line: Sorry for the repeated comparisons to the Joe Rocket mesh jacket, but with the price difference I was really concerned that I would be sacrificing too much to save some money since the ILM is about 1/2 the cost of the JR. Plus, it's all I have to compare to. It turns out that I didn't sacrifice, and may have actually improved with this purchase. In my case the ILM fits much better and with the elbow armor in the proper location and CE armor in the back I'll have better protection. I got 7 years and 41,000 miles out of my JR. We'll see how the ILM does long term. Considering the price point this jacket is a solid 5 stars in spite of the few and minor cons.

Great Jacket
Lots of good things to be said for this jacket. I'm a 46" chest, 36" waist. The XXL fits me great. Love the look too. (I went with Gray) Armor is pre installed, except the back pad. The back pad that came with it, is considerably too big to fit in the pocket for it. Had to do some "adjusting" with a pair of shears to get it to fit. Not docking a star for that, but a bit irritating to have to do it. The overall quality is so good, I will let that itrritation slide. The jacket is cooler than I expected with the liner out. It breathes! A 75 degree day, riding through long shady sections was actually chilly. Liner in, warms up pretty good. Haven't tested it in colder temps yet, but I'm thinking I'll need some undergarment layers in colder weather. I love the reflective stripes. Anyone on a bike knows full well how important it is to be seen out there. Quality is fantastic. Value for the $$ also fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with this jacket. But I'm pretty sure you will need to layer up underneath on colder days. I may get another jacket for colder weather, we will see. I haven't been caught in the rain with it, so can't comment on that, yet. It's a great jacket. I'd buy it again.

durant les basses temperatures avec la doublure, on ne sent presque pas le froid. Si on met une chemise ou un t-shirt a manche longue c'est encore meilleur... Protege bien de la pluie, les accoudoires et le protege dos tres utile et securitaire... CHAPEAU!!!!

Lighter weight then most my previous jackets. The rain covering on the quilted lining should help block cold air as the jacket shell is quite mesh. Ordered a larger size than I would normally but went by their measurement chart and fit is good.

Beautiful jacket but does run small. Husband is normally a 3x bought him the 4x and it was too tight. I would size up if you're a bigger guy. Other than that would recommend the jacket 100%. 4 stars because of sizing no other reason!

I’ve used in winter rain for 6 hours and hold really good. Also in cold weather 5 C it it feels great. Jacket will be very nice to ride in summer without in inner layer since the fabric is mostly a mesh. The only thing I would improve are the zippers that appear to be not too sturdy. Really good value for what it offers
