I’m impressed!
I need to follow a low sodium diet for my blood pressure. I have tried many lower sodium salts and salt substitutes as I explore how to cook and eat with this new dietary restriction. I heard about green salt on a low sodium forum and decided to try it. I chose this brand because it was available on subscribe and save which made it a reasonable cost, great value for money. I was surprised when it came to see that it included a small, quality salt shaker for ease of use and a high quality canvas shopping bag as well! The bag was wrapped with a paper band that details how this purchase helps to support a group of women in India. The salt itself tastes very good, salty and green, like plants. My daughter commented that it tastes like a salty matcha tea. I have not tried this in any recipes yet, but so far I am pleased with the taste and very pleased with my purchase. This brand seems mindful of both consumers and social and ethical values.

Slight taste like salt.
Don’t read what it’s made from, shouldn’t hurt you

Terrible taste!
Tastes like you’re eating salty grass or weeds!

Great buy
The bottle is filled to the top, unlike most products you buy these days. The shaker and bag that are included are high quality. As advertised, salicornia is just as salty as table salt but with much less sodium. I will never buy table salt again.

Made in India
My old green salt provider went out of business, so I tried this one. I liked that it came in glass jars as opposed to plastic, but I was surprised to know this product came from India. Not sure how I feel about that. I will use it since I bought it, but may look for a different source of origin next time I need more salicornia.

Might be good, will never know
Arrived smashed to smithereens. I was looking forward to trying this, but couldn't be sure there would be no glass in the salt.

taste
Tastes like salty moringa. Irrigated with saltwater thus defeating the purpose of buying salicornia. There is good salicornia but it doesn't come from the east.

Great product, beautifully presented
When this green salt set appeared on my Amazon Vine screen, it seemed to have my name written all over it! For most of my adult life (and there's been a lot of it!), I have been trying to avoid salt and processed food, which usually has far too much salt. I always eat a healthy diet, and rarely use salt at home; I don't even have regular salt in my food cupboard, although I did recently succumb to ordering some "healthy" organic, grey coarse sea salt, in case I have visitors who insist on having their food salted! When my Healthy Salt box arrived, it was so beautifully packaged that I felt reluctant to keep it for myself as it would make such a good present. You get two lovely chunky jars of green salt, and the handcrafted, canvas tote bag, which are shown in the photos, but also a 30g free sample of salicornia white salt and a neat little stainless steel salt shaker - see my photo. There are also three cards: one with a couple of recipes, one telling the SaltWise story, and a 30-day guarantee card. As I don't often use salt, I haven't experimented much yet, but the salt seems to have a slight "green" taste, which reminds me a bit of wheatgrass. I can't see any reason why my salt-loving friends shouldn't like it - or even notice the difference in cooked food. At £30.47, this Healthy Salt box is quite pricey, but I think well worth it, as it's so beautifully presented, and from a company that seems mindful of both consumers, and social and ethical values. And one jar of salt is going to last me ages - in fact, although it has a shelf life of 2 years, I shall be giving my second jar to a friend who shares my passion for healthy eating.

Great as a novelty, but too expensive for most pockets
I love the fact that this is a natural product that supports the environment and all the rest of it. I find it to be much saltier than "normal" sea salt, so less is needed in dishes. It really is good. BUT, It is over 60x the price of table/sea salt, so it isn't financially viable for most people.

Need to use more to get the same salt taste
I ordered this hoping it would help my fussy eating husband to reduce his salt intake. Unfortunately he won't try it due the green, vegetable like colour. To me it just looks like dried herbs and tastes salty, but not as strong as actual salt. I'm not convinced that you will actually reduce your salt intake significantly by using this as you'll most likely just use more to get the taste you're after. I had to search up to see what Salicornia was and turns out it's known as samphire here in the UK, which I eat as a vegetable on occasion. Within the pack was a sample of white salicornia salt, which does look just like table salt and seems to taste saltier than the great one. There is no information regarding how this is produced though, which puts me off slightly as it's so different to the green one I find it hard to believe it's from the same plant. The pack also included a fabric tote bag, with Saltwise branding on one side and "I need vitamin Sea" on the other. According to the information provided, this was handcrafted by a "woman owned small business" but there is no information on who this woman is. It would be nice if some of her story was provided. There was also a small, silver coloured salt seller included in the pack. This does need washing out before use as was a little dusty on the inside. It's quite nice, although could have done with some further polishing, and unfortunately in my case the Saltwise logo is a little wonky.

Unique, flavorful, and beautifully presented
This green salt is an interesting alternative to regular table salt, with a delicate umami flavor that works especially well on roasted vegetables, tomatoes, and omelettes. The presentation is impressive, with two jars, a small sample, a sleek shaker, and a canvas tote—making it a great gift for foodies. It’s lower in sodium than standard salt and made from natural, plant-based ingredients, which is a plus for those mindful of their diet. The only minor drawbacks are that it can clump in humid conditions and the taste may not suit every dish, but overall it’s a high-quality, enjoyable seasoning.
