Really good ( as always ! )
Love this Tis the night before Xmas Eve Should have gone to bed ages ago,but had to know how this turned out ! OH ,the sex is HOT ! Sean is the perfect male ,dominant in the bedroom, but would not dare to try to order Genny around in any other area of life It is a really sweet romance at times Love it Just read some of the other reviews where readers have complained about Sean calling Genny 'girl' Did not bother me at all Seemed to fit totally with the character, but if it bugged them to the extent it does me when the bloke calls the woman 'Baby ',in a lot of books in this genre, then I understand !

Passionate...
Very passionate story . Genevieve and Sean are two people who should be together, such is their intense attraction to each other. However, a menage a trois, a murder and a lot of misunderstandings mean that these two have spent years apart. When Genevieve and Sean meet up again due to unforseen circumstances , the sparks fly. This is a very intense tale which I enjoyed. I didn't give 5 stars as I felt it could have done with a bit more suspense and I wanted an epilogue. ( Call me old fashioned!) Another reviewer mentioned that Sean calling Genny 'girl' was annoying but I thought it was endearing and made a change from 'babe' which seems to be the norm in contemporary fiction. Content of bedroom scenes were along the lines of Fifty Shades.

Good book ...
This book took a bit of getting in to. I found some of the flashbacks difficult to extract from the present at times and everything happened very quickly towards the end. Was an enjoyable storyline and am I fan of Beth’s writing style.

sigh with excitement
Pretty much much of a muchness but with a difference in this one. Crime and mystery involved in this book, perhaps a little coincidental but almost believable. Beth Kerry's stories always include a bit of a twist with a lovely romantic ending. I like her easy reading style, very clear language with only the necessary amount of the F words. Not being a prude but too much profanity just destroys a story for me, it's necessary.

Passionate love story....read it now!
My second read by Beth Kery, and just like the first one, Addicted To You, this was brilliant! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put it down! About to start Wicked Burn now....

Good read
I enjoyed this book. The sex scenes are plentiful and probably not for the faint hearted! The things that bothered the previous reviewer did not bother me apart from I agree that Sean calling Genny "girl" gets a bit irritating.Recommended.

4 ½ stars for a lot of hot steamy erotic sex scenes. The story and characters are good but not the main reason to read it.
STORY BRIEF:Max hires Sean as COO in Max's security firm. Genny loves her husband Max, but she and Sean have a strong attraction. One night, Max initiates a menage a trois among the three of them. A few days later, Max is killed. Genny avoids Sean for three years. The story begins after those three years. Genny's house burns down, and she goes to the company penthouse for temporary housing. Sean just happens to be there. Genny is reluctant to stay there with him, but the snow storm and Sean convince her to stay at least one night. By the next day, lust has brought them together. Also Genny learns someone has broken into her clothing store and storage locker. Sean fears for her safety and helps her deal with these attacks and the mystery.REVIEWER'S OPINION:Very hot sex scenes. A lot of sex scenes, and they are well done. There is more sex than story, but there is just enough story to keep you interested. There are mysteries about some happenings three years earlier. By the end of the book, the mysteries get solved. Sometimes the author has scenes which make me a little uncomfortable, but I like that. It's got an edgy feel. Sex scenes include ménage a trois MWM, bondage, whipping, sex toys, and rear door activity.DATA:Story length: 328 pages. Swearing language: strong, including religious words. Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: 14, most of them many pages long. Setting: current day Chicago, Illinois, and Gary, Indiana. Copyright: 2010. Bind me up, smack me nice, don't let me go
First of all, to be fair to Beth Kerry, the three stars given to this book is not an objective rating, as it, too, was judged by comparing it to "Wicked Burn" though compared to other erotica works it rates a lot higher. I keep buying Beth's books in the hope of finding that much missed for me combination of deep feelings and intense emotions with explosive sexual encounters so well depicted in "Wicked Burn". As in all her books (with the aforementioned exception) characterization suffers in the hands of the numerous sex scenes which seem like well rehearsed acts rather than all consuming, mind blowing, earth shattering, emotionally charged experiences between lovers whose attraction is bone melting.Genny's husband Max has been dead these past three years. She professes to have loved him but as she watches their house and all their memories contained therein turn to ashes, she remains unnaturally detatched. She does not suffer from the loss but feels relieved, seeing this as an opportunity to go back to Chicago and the apartment she shared with Max. This place is full of memories for her as it is where she experienced menage sex with Max and his business partner Sean, an experience which changed her view on love forever. Shortly after this affair, Max is killed with Genny being one of the main suspects, though she remains unaware of it. She in turn suspects Sean as being responsible because the sex they shared that night was so ardent, as to leave her in no doubt as to his possessive attraction for her. The tragedy of her husband's death and its suspicious circumstances lead her to break contact with Sean. Now, having nowhere else to go, Genny resorts to the Chicago penthouse, though it is fraught with vivid memories for her, memories that have haunted her life these past three years. She arrives on a freezing evening just as the city is about to be hit by one of the worst snow storms in years. Imagine her shock and distress when she sees Sean in the bedroom with a volumptuous blonde practicing what she had been fantasizing about all these lonely, loveless years! Circumstances force them to share the apartment (without the blonde) much to Sean's delight who cannot keep his eyes, hands, mouth and other parts of his anatomy, away from her. When her husband was alive, Sean took every opportunity to be with her, unable to resist the strong attraction he felt for her. Max, in fact, encouraged him to spend time with his beautiful wife, sensing the sexual undercurrents that ran between them. He proposed that Sean share his wife for one night and though Sean guessed there was more to the offer than meets the eye, he could not resist making love to the woman he had fallen passionately in love with. The snow storm brings the lovers together, giving Sean the chance to turn his most extreme fantasies to life. He can demonstrate to Genny the depth of his feelings for her by loving her in ways he has been dreaming about, exposing her to her passionate, unreserved nature. Genny feels guilt and remorse for capitulating to the man she suspects of having murdered her husband but his sexual prowess and drive reveal aspects of her sexuality she was uanaware of possessing. Certain 'coincidences' also lead Sean to the conclusion that someone wishes to harm Genny so he has to protect her by solving the mystery of Max's death. It is a well written book with a plot which keeps you involved but I would have preferred three dimensional characters. The characters of Sean and Genny did not intrigue me and I would have liked to know something more about the heroes other than their sexual obsession for each other and that they were exceptionally attractive and well endowed. I consider a book to have succeeded in drawing me in when the characters and their predicament linger in my mind when the story ends. In this case I shut the book and had to refer to it to remind myself of their names prior to writing this review. I am certain that Beth Kerry could devise more memorable characters if she concentrated less on the constant turnout of books which traps writers into writing stories which follow a well rehearsed pattern.

Absolutely adored Sean (and Genny); had strong mystery subplot
Another great Kery read! This is the fourth book of hers I've read since I started my Kery binge less than two weeks ago. I've never been a "romantica" reader, but in the past couple of months I've expanded in this sub-genre and found some surprisingly good books. My expectations were not high; I thought it would be all sex scenes, with a couple of paragraphs thrown in between them depicting some type of clothed activity to show the outside world still exists.Anyway, this and Wicked Burn are my favorite Kery reads so far. They both have great leading characters, hot romance, and interesting subplots. Explosivehad a better subplot than Wicked Burn (a surprisingly good one, actually), but entire-package-wise, Wicked Burn and Release definitely come out ahead, with the former probably being my favorite. This one is good though and very worth reading.I loved both Genevieve (33 and 30) and Sean (37 and 34). Sean is a delicious hero and is vying with Vic (from WICKED BURN) for my affections, though they're very different from one another. Sean is in love with Genevieve and very open and clear about that from the beginning, he's so caring and affection towards her and his feelings never waver. In this instance, the internal conflict over the relationship is all on Genevieve's side, and considering what she believes it is understandable. Despite that, she doesn't hold herself back from Sean and never pulls the I'm-going-to-be-mean-to-you-to-push-you-away-because-I-actually-love-you move or any other similar manipulation, which I greatly appreciated (hate those).Genevieve was a very realistic heroine in that she's similar to a real, actual, modern woman, as opposed to one of the two extremes that we often see. I mean this in terms of personality, profession, upbringing, sexual experience, etc. - characters are so often full of extremes and very unrealistic in that sense; both Sean and Genny seemed real, like people you could know. It's a romantic suspense book and I thought the suspense subplot was excellently done. There were lots of twists and turns that were slowly revealed and while I had an idea who had murdered Max, I was not at all certain of what the motive was and frankly thought it was going to be some really forced and convoluted reasoning that was solely done because the story needed it, as opposed to because it made sense. This was not the case and I loved how Kery tied everything together. While one of the two main failings in EXPLOSIVE was that the back and forth in story timeline was unclear and confusing at the beginning, here Kery got it right throughout. The first flashback didn't occur until ~30 pages in, so we're allowed to sink into the present day story and see where we are now; then the beginnings of their relationship is integrated and, of course, that fateful New Year's Eve. The back and forths were infrequent, smoothly integrated, and long enough that you don't feel like you're watching a ping pong match. The entire book only takes place over a couple of days, but there are also the flashbacks and since Sean and Genny have known one another for so long before the present point we're brought in to, the short length of time didn't bother me as it normally would. I was actually bothered by the fact that it took 3 years for Sean and Genevieve to end their estrangement. Sean had initially tried several times to reach out, but Genny kept him at arm's length for valid reasons. She would have continued doing so had her house fire not forced her to find someplace else to stay, and had she not chosen the company penthouse to be that place. Three years just seems like a long time and I find it hard to believe, considering their strong feelings of love for one another (which I do believe), they would have stayed away from each other for so long. Wicked BurnExplosive

Scorching hot book!
Genevieve Bujold and Sean Kennedy had shared one night of passion three years ago with her husband Max at his instigation. Now Genny and Max's house has burned down and she plans to stay at the company penthouse. Sean and Genny had avoided each for three years following Max's death. She discovers Max's business partner Sean Kennedy there with another woman. They soon find themselves snowbound in the penthouse as a blizzard shuts down Chicago.Beth Kery created a smoking hot hero in Sean Kennedy and his Cajun drawl could melt the coldest of women. Sean is my favorite of Beth Kery's men as he's not afraid to admit early to Genny that he loves her. He can call me "girl" anytime! In the flashbacks of the ménage which occurred three years ago Sean and Genny were making love to each other and Max was an intruder. Now Sean helps Genny release her erotic side. The sex scenes are scorching enough to melt the deepest snowdrift.

Release
I am a fan of Beth Kerry and usually like the books I read, but I did not really like this offering from her. The flashbacks between the ménage three years ago and the present, was very distracting. The characters are one dimensional, and not very interesting or engaging. More history about the characters would have helped make it believable, so the reader could feel the connection between them. The story plot, or more appropriately stated, the lack thereof was a monumental disappointment. The death of Max and the circumstances surrounding his murder supposedly kept Genny and Sean apart for over three years. If they were soul mates and fated to be together, wouldn't they have investigated, and tried every possible way to find out what really happened to Max? I especially couldn't believe Sean letting this go so long unsolved as it goes against the grain of his profession and his connections could have helped considerably. The flimsy reasons for leaving it unsolved felt very contrived. There were plenty of erotic passages, but they became meaningless when they fail to draw the reader in. I ended up skimming thru many of them because there was no real emotional content to connect the characters.I hope the next book is better because I don't recommend this one.

Good but authors other books are better
Beth Kery is normally a good author but this book was hard for me to 'get into'. The romance was steamy and more like the authors style but just did not enjoy other parts of the book.

Awesome!
My all time favorite author, and I was not disappointed with this book. I love the way she makes her characters real, but most of all, how they stand out on the page with real emotion and depth. 100 times better than the typical "Fifty Shades cookie cutter" books that are out now.

Loved it!
I was so leary of reading this because of the menage action but it was such a small part of the book. It was so good. The backstory was awesome, the characters very well developed. Just loved everything about it. Read this, don't let that small part stear you away. Its one of my new favorites.
