This book is a lovely read. There’s not many of this type, but an important topic to broach with your children, irrespective of what type of family dynamic you have.

A lovely little book about a girl who starts school and realises the beauty in the fact that all families are different, it doesn’t matter if you have 2 mums, 2 dads, a mum, a Nan, a mum and dad, or even just an adoptive family - what’s most important is love.

Kids love it

Our daughter loves this book, we read it to her most nights and it’s quickly become a favourite. It’s so nice to find a book that covers this topic so well.

Really nice book. If only there were more books around showing 2 Mummies. Lovely story and great for our daughter to have to identify with. 🌈

This book is absolutely wonderful. It shows how the most important thing in any family is love, and presents various family structures throughout the book to show how every family is special in their own way. The story is centered around Heather and her two mommies, however when Heather goes to school she realizes not everyone has two mommies. Each child in the class is asked to draw their own family, and you see various family structures (same sex parents, two parents, one parent, step-parents, grandparents only, etc). Ultimately the lesson is that all families love each other and are special. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to show family structures to their children. I bought this for my 4-year old twins and they love it.

Excellent! Just got this for my 5 year old daughter and I would highly recommend it. It came quickly and the story was quite nice. It showcased not only the same-sex parents of the title, but also multiple other family dynamics (both a mom and dad, grandparents, single parents, etc) in Heather's classroom to show that while different, Heather's two mom family is just as normal as everyone else's family. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.
