Fascinating Books!!
At first I thought it would be too advanced for my 1st grader, but she was mesmerized by the stories in the books so much so that I sought out for the rest of the 3 Murderous Maths books. I contacted the author but he said they are not planning to publish the rest again, so I had to buy them used on Amazon and Ebay. They are such wonderful books that it was worth it!! The author is also extremely friendly in writing the emails! This is the way to get kids interested in math and love it!!! I hope every child can be inspired by math with these books! Yes some topics are advanced for my daughter, but there was so much fun in it that it didn't matter to her. She would get so absorbed in the reading and rereading. She doesn't go in order, she just grabs one and starts randomly. I think in a few years when she is learning the more advanced math, she will have some foundation from these books and in turn, enjoy these books even more!

Truly exponentially offering deeper understanding
I am hooked...I will be perfectly honest... this is a series that offers new looks at old concepts and even with the origin of the series being across "the pond" it still holds relevance in my classroom and curriculum.Teaching math in a middle school setting is a challenge all into itself... but then to want to find alternatives to the text and note patterns makes you look outside the norm. And a random google search one day for math humor with fraction focus and here i am 13 books and one compendium into a series that is giving me tons of ammo for the years to come.Math ammo... the best kind.

Fun to read books about math
I bought the first set of these for my kids when they were in 1st grade -- they love math and these books were fascinating. They have fun stories and end up explaining how many of the fundamentals of math work. I would say these are good for anyone interested in math up to early middle school (though they are certainly readable by adults -- I read through them myself!).

I would not say my boy is a gifted boy but he does feel bored for what taught at school
My 6 yr old boy is not so into it yet. I made this order at the suggestion from a psychiatrist who is expertise in education for gifted kids. I would not say my boy is a gifted boy but he does feel bored for what taught at school.I myself think these books were well written and organized in a fun way for kids to learn math. We hope these books can fill up some of his free time.

For math lovers and those unsure about numbers
I have said it once and I'm going to say it again, you can't go wrong with the Horrible Books. Murderous Maths hits it out of the park. My youngest son, who is not my math fan, is loving math time thanks to these books. My oldest son, who does love math, picks these books up just to read. We now own almost all of the Horrible Books, even the specials. They are just that good. I highly recommend these books.

Great addition to your library
Maybe my expectation was too high after reading the Horrible History series. My boys weren't as enthusiastic as I hoped...In fact, they haven't even touched them, yet... However, after perusing the books, I am pretty confident they'll read them up once they get going. Maybe I will keep them in the bathroom.-------------------Dec 2016It turns out this is a great book. They eventually moved on to this set and have read them over and over. My boys want other books that were not included in this set. So I changed my rating to 5 stars.

My child and I love reading these books together
My child and I love reading these books together. Still hoping the Murderous Maths and Horrible Histories become more available across the pond. The only thing I really feel is missing from the box set is The Mean and Vulgar Bits, which is the MM book on fractions. We ended up buying it separately because we are working on fractions a lot this year and knew we would be needing it. That being said, the books that do come with the box set are great and my child does retain information from them.

Fun explanations
My eight year old already had a couple of these and kept rereading them, so we were really happy to find the full set at a good price. Seems to explain concepts in a fun way which have made sense and stuck in his head.

Kids & Parents would fall in Love with Math!
Best books to teach math and set the foundations. I even like to read these out instead of the usual bed time stories!! The author made math that interesting! Brilliant find and one of my best buys, I plan to treasure this collection forever! Wish I grew up reading these!

Good collection
I got this for my 10 year old son. This series is really good and we get to know a lot of aspects about maths. Highly recommended and must buy for parents who want to infuse wholesome knowledge to their kids apart from school text books.
