More expensive, but slightly superior to other silicone trivets.
The Le Creuset Silicone Cool Tool Silicone Trivet is an indispensable tool for culinary enthusiasts. Whilst more expensive than a lot of silicone trivets, it does seem of a better quality and is easier to clean and items seem more steady on it. The flexibility and weight of this trivet seems of a better quality to others I use - which are already showing signs if wear in comparison to this. I am thoroughly impressed by its performance and practicality. This pot holder and trivet has quickly become an invaluable addition to my kitchen arsenal. The aesthetic appeal of the Cool Tool is noteworthy, with its sleek design and vibrant color options that can easily complement any kitchen decor. However, its design is not merely for aesthetics; the high-quality silicone material assures durability and resilience, withstanding high temperatures effortlessly. This feature allows me to handle hot pots and pans without concern, promoting a safe and efficient cooking environment. Versatility is one of the standout characteristics of this tool. It serves excellently as both a pot holder and a trivet, effectively protecting my countertops and dining surfaces from heat damage. The textured surface ensures a secure grip on even the heaviest cookware, alleviating the worry of accidents while maneuvering dishes. The non-slip properties give me confidence when transferring items from the stove to the table. Additionally, the practicality of the Le Creuset Silicone Cool Tool is enhanced by its ease of maintenance. Being dishwasher safe, it simplifies cleanup after cooking, allowing me to focus more on enjoying my culinary creations rather than dreading the post-cooking mess. In conclusion, the Le Creuset Silicone Cool Tool is not just a luxury item but an essential tool for anyone serious about their cooking. Its blend of style, functionality, and ease of use makes it a worthwhile investment. I highly recommend this product to culinary enthusiasts and home cooks alike.

Stylish and Functional – Le Creuset Cool Tool
The Le Creuset Cool Tool in Flint is a fantastic addition to my kitchen. This pot holder/trivet is not only stylish with its sleek, round design and modern flint color, but it also does the job perfectly. Made from high-quality silicone, it's heat-resistant and provides excellent protection for my countertops and tables. The 20 cm size is just right for most pots and pans, offering ample space without being too bulky. What I love most is its versatility. It works great as a pot holder, providing a secure grip, and doubles as a trivet to protect surfaces from hot dishes. Plus, it's easy to clean and store. Overall, the Le Creuset Cool Tool is both a practical and attractive kitchen accessory. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish pot holder/trivet!

One of those 'must have' kitchen gadgets
This is one of those kitchen gadgets that once you have for a while you wonder how you ever managed without. I use this mat for a number of different things. I have a lovely wooden chopping board and I don't like putting hot pans straight onto it as this can cause unsightly scorch marks that are impossible to remove. I don't have the room in my kitchen to leave metal trivets permanently out for hot pans or to store them when not in use so this thin, flexible, silicon mat does the job and takes up almost no space in a drawer. Because I don't have very strong wrists I struggle to open a lot of jars and bottles. I've found that using this mat means I can open them with very little strength. I've also got a plastic board that I use for cutting meat. Unfortunately over time this board has warped a little bit and it slides around if put straight onto my kitchen surface. However, putting the silicone mat underneath the board keeps it firmly in place. It works just as well for stopping bowls from sliding around if you are mixing or whisking in them. The mat is easy to keep clean either in the dishwasher or using hot soapy water and it comes out looking as good as new. Size wise it is about 2/3 of the size of a dinner plate. It easily protects my work surface from every size pan from small egg pans up to my huge stock pot. I've been really pleased that I bought one of these and I have certainly had a lot of use out of it.

The little hole would be fine for hanging them up but how bloody difficult are ...
Bought several of these frisbees to throw about the kitchen and find they don't mark our white kitchen units when they bounce off them, I do bare caution when you go for that world cup penalty dive to catch one though contacting your head on the corner of a unit can hurt a fair but. But having several off them duck taped to your head can help in getting a minor scratch. Hey they are get proof too as I found when technical chuck landing on a hot grill pan. The little hole would be fine for hanging them up but how bloody difficult are these to play hoopla with, we tried for hours to score even just one point with but just gave up trying in the end. Tying them to your feet gives a nice ripples massarging effect and good for gripping various surfaces but could feel a little static being generated on a woollen carpet. Found them to be durable to a good solution for in house massarging footwear. Partial success as a shower cap but wouldn't recommend as an waterproof berret as the hole seems to drain water down the back of your neck.

Very very handy.
I use these all the time, I won't repeat their many uses as other reviewers have done a good job of that. To take something out of the oven/grill quickly, I find it much quicker and safer to pick up a pair of these than to fumble your hands into an oven-glove arrangement. They are big enough & flexible enough to give good protection without fiddling them into place. They block the heat well, and don't slip. To keep them easy to pick up in a toast-related emergency, I stand them on their side "bookended" by saltpot and wall. I like the look of them too. For all their functionality they make me smile - think Liquorice All-Sorts! Yet they look classic and unobtrusive at the dinner table. So I've bought another in cerise too - it looks delicious! If they were more well-known I think they'd considered be a design classic. And since I think they'll last a lifetime I'm guessing they're well worth the money.

Marvellous
This is a simple but very versatile and useful kitchen tool. If I am taking a cast iron casserole out of the oven, this is the perfect thing to place it on to protect the kitchen bench and to stop the casserole sliding around. If my usual oven gloves are not to hand, this cool tool can be used in their place to handle hot baking trays and cake tins. It is also perfect for removing a lid from a casserole while it is still hot. I occasionally use it on my dining room table when placing bowls of hot food on there. I have also used this to get a better grip on a jar lid that if refusing to budge easily. The cool tool won't break if you drop it like some cast iron trivets will, it doesn't tear or burn easily and it is very easy to keep clean. I have had other trivets made by different manufacturers and this one does feel like it is of better quality than the others. I would highly recommend this cool tool to anyone.

Among our most-used kitchen accessories
These little gems are in use throughout the day at our house, both as pot holders and as trivets. For most of our cooking, these are able to take the place of cumbersome oven mitts. We have three sets in different colors, so if some are in the dishwasher there are always a few available. Our first set is now a few years old and still looks brand new.

Nice, but much smaller than I thought it would be. Update 2012: Still looks new.
Practical for the smallest pot only. They really should post the dimension. Pricey for such a small item. Update: Having this item in the kitchen for a few months has shown just how practical this item can be. It is sturdy, fits the hand well, nice for resting something hot. Its true utility, however, may be as a great & easy way to open that stubborn jar or other container. It has held up extremely well & is very sturdy. The ribbed texture makes it so useful. It is a very thick rubber & actually is worth the price. Still looks new despite almost daily use. Update 2012: Still looks new. Great, versatile, kitchen item. Worth the cost.
