I trust Orico and buy many of their other products. They are also responsive if you ever need to contact them through Amazon seller channels.As a PC tech, I often get orphaned 2230 NVMe drives and they are about impossible to move to other boards that cannot mount them. I then took one of those drives, wiped it and made it into a portable backup. It is NOT a travel backup, but what I use to sync my images collection on an image server that sits on my desk.

Worked great for turning my extra ssd into an external and easy to tell when its properly connected thanks to the built in light. I recommend getting a separate heat sink kit though, the included one wasn't thick enough. With just the included heat sink kit it overheated fast.

This is a great little pc. I especially like the small package - it fits anywhere. I use it on a daily basis and about a month ago, Win11 Pro hard crashed (due to no fault of my own or the Mfgr GMKtec). I could not in any way get it to boot up any further. It was then passed the 30 day Amazon limit to return for a refund. I sent an eMail to GMKtec explaining my issue. I was positively impressed with the speed that they responded to me. They understood what my problem was, and they directed me where I could download a new .iso image (the same as what originally came with a new pc). When I reinstalled this, my new GMKtec was restored and now works perfectly. My hat is off to this company and I give them an A+. I am very impressed with them, and I wouldn't hesitate purchasing another product or referring them to my friends or anyone. These drives are awesome. Very reliable and fast. This is my third for all three of my Lenovo ThinkPads.

First, this thing works and is fast. It gets 3stars because it sits, on average, at 51C degrees, and shoots up to 80C while transferring data for a couple of minutes. That's WAY too hot and I won't leave it plugged in .

This works great for small file transfer sizes - 10gb or so.Anything beyond and this enclosure is not capable of dissipating heat off the drive and will torture it until write speeds settle in at about 10% of what they should be. Completely unacceptable.They do include two thermal pads - using one (as you would in any other product and by their own instructions included ) sees instantaneous thermal throttling. Using both gives it enough height to make contact with the metal postage stamp and allows transfers to go without throttling for about a minute or two longer.This suggests the manufacturer is aware of this defect, but rather then redesign their product is selling you junk that will ruin your storage.

Works ok. Does not dissipate heat well. Added in some extra thermal pad material to improve contact area and that did help, but the enclosure holds too much heat and the SSD will either thermal throttle or just stop all together.
