Is this a powder that can be added directly to drinks and mixed, without needing to strain it before drinking? I need "powder" for a recipe, not leaves.

Yes, it is a loose powder and it is very fine. The canister includes a tiny wooden scoop and the recommended amount for an 8oz cup (i believe) is one well-rounded scoop. It is a very strong powder though, so you might want to go easy on it and check the taste to see if it needs more. I hope this helps. :)

Tomorryo, the container does not have this information, but the ingredients are black tea and spices which have negligible calories and fat. One serving is a quarter of a teaspoon so I would say the caloric value is below 10 calories, if that. All the spices are 100 percent organic and the product is vegan and gluten free. Really good stuff!

Does this have to be dissolved in hot..... i drink my coffee and tea iced.... would i be able to just add a scoop or two without heating first?

I would suggest dissolving in a bit of hot water to mix well, then add cold water & ice. I'm sure that would work well. Because it's a masala, it can be a bit gritty at the bottom but this is easily remedied by continually swirling your cup. I really love this product. Try adding a little powdered ginger if you want even more kick!
