Authentic Art Deco Jewelry Designs (Dover Jewelry and Metalwork)

I was excited to find this book at this price, what is the old saying?? You get what you pay for 🤔 its nothing but poor done drawings) of art deco with no Description. Just drawing after drawing. Looks like most are Egyptian Revival pieces they tried to draw. Oh well live and learnWould not recommend this book

As often happened at the time 1920's and 30's, the name of the artist of these wonderful renderings over 800 in allis not known. If it was I would have applauded him or her. Very fine detail watercolor and gouache renderings with personality and strong geometric patterning. Quite beautiful. The designs are all in black and white and monochromatic 'grey scale' on black or grey paper; which was common at the time and up through the 1940's. You won't miss the color,these were so well designed they stand on there own just fine. For the jewelry historians or jewelry lovers among you; the editors of this great Dover publications book dated this portfolio of drawings to approx. 1925-1930 French or German.

This book is the classic style art deco design -- what Mary Jane would have asked Harry for on their first anniversary, "Something modern, Darling, but not too much for my pink dress...." So. There are no leaping gazelles, stylized flappers or blazing Auburn designs.

I make jewelry and will get a lot of inspiration from this book. Beautifully illustrated.

Excellent book when it comes to give ideas for jewellery settings, alas it is in black and white and makes the work harder than it should be. Plus some text could help.

O livro é composto apenas por imagens em preto e branco, todas ilustrações (nenhuma foto), como o sub título do livro diz. Por esses motivos, não é possível ver muitos detalhes das joias. Sem contar que as imagens não possuem referência.O livro é tão fino que poderia ser uma revista. As páginas são em papel grosso, brilhoso.Minha avaliação leva três estrelas apenas pela quantidade de desenhos. Se fosse pela qualidade do material, levaria 2.
