This is a specific example, but maybe someone out there is in the same situation, so this may only be applicable to very few people. I had the Astro branded version of this for my PS5, and it worked great, but that thing got so dang hot I literally could barely touch it. I added heat sinks to it and had a blower fan go across us and that made kept it significantly cooler, but a lot of setup for that piece of hardware. Over time I think it mostly cooked itself to death, it worked, but only barely and the audio would consistently “flicker” in and out. I purchased this as a replacement and worked like a charm as well as all my issues went away, yet it does get hot, but not nearly as bad, I can at least touch the thing after extended use. Highly recommend this over the Astro one, unless they’ve addressed the heat issue, this just feels safer.

This item is awful don’t waste your money. I just got my adapter and every two seconds my stream goes black. You’re better off getting the Astro adapter for the same price

I purchased a splitter or $40.00 and it stopped working. This was very easy to install. Now I have my fiber optic cable. My Astro Tr40 sounds fantastic. Nice build ice price.

Seems this box is only designed to pull rear channels for output on digital output. No acceptable checked all settings on input device and my output device and they should have outputted full signal to my earphones. So sent it back. To bad, was nicely made device.

The product works great

This came in a tiny package that looked like a kids toy. Wasn’t expecting that. This audio extractor can extract audio signals from a HDMI source and send it to TOSLINK optical output perfect for an amplifier that doesn’t support hdmi. It comes with a usb-c power cable but no power adapter was included. It would have been better if it was included. This extractor supports 4K so that was a must for me and works as expected. Overall a good extractor.
