This case is fine for those who want a backup drive, additional storage to add to NAS, or just to build some low cost high capacity desktop storage. It was easy to load and has worked well. For the cost, the power supply and USB are worth more than the case. For the downside, the USB port is in a strange location or maybe it is the power supply port or both. Either way something needs to go in a different location. The power button power and USB port are all on one side. This is a crazy stupid design. Put the two ports on the back or the power on the back, but not everything up front. This is why the best uses for the drive are stationary and not often powered on/off.

What I liked about this enclosure is the fact that there are rubber boots to go on both ends of the hard drive. This keeps the drive in place. In my opinion I feel the rubber boots also act like protection for the drive from any bumps of the drive. I’ve bought more expensive enclosures but this enclosure is my absolute favorite so far and the price is extremely reasonable. Only wish that I would have about the enclosure is; I wish the usb c cord was a little longer. However, the cord is definitely heavy duty. Still a GREAT deal if you ask me!

The actual product is not close quality depicted in the rendered pictures with gaps everywhere. However, it holds pretty tight with everything installed. It also works perfectly fine given you use the included cable or another usb cable rated 5gbps and above. I suspect most other buyers with negative experience have actually tried to connect with their phone's cable which most likely is usb 2.0. The included cable is also way to short at less than .5 meter. So prepare to spend on an extra cable with your purchase. Even in that case, this is still one of the best deal for a 3.5' enclosure shipped locally.

There's nothing special about a hard drive enclosure except that it puts your drive at the end of a USB cable. This one matched my iMac, and the price was right, it arrived on time, was easy to hook up, and it worked great for 31 days. Yesterday, as I was adding a new folder, it dropped off the desktop in the middle of writing the folder. I tried everything and no go, it just died. Of course, my return window closed the day before yesterday. Waste of time and money.

I took an old wd mycloud and removed the drive (2tb). I formatted it to ex-fat and now use this to back up my galaxy s22 ultra pic and videos. Yes this drive is slow being a old HDD, and can take some time but I do this about once a week and the drive gives me a secure place to back up, and unload my phone for new space for videos and pics.

This HDD caddy is great! it is lightweight but sturdy. The USB C connection is stable. Have had no issues with it over the last month and a half that I have been using it.

I was expecting little from the price but this enclosure runs at full usb 3 speeds and has a premium build with type c I see the reviews about the longevity but as of now it's outstanding

This is pretty much the least expensive USB-C 3.5" enclosure available, and it does mostly work, but there are a couple major gotchas. First of all, while the description says it comes with a Gen 2 cable, the enclosure itself only supports Gen 1 (VIA chipset, for those wondering). This probably won't make much difference for older 3.5 drives, but seems a little shady to prominently list the speed of the cable and not the enclosure itself. About that cable: at least on the one I received, it only worked in certain orientations, which shouldn't be the case with USB Type C, and one more than one occasion it caused my computer to reboot when plugged in. It's only about 18 inches long and fairly stuff, so if you plan on putting the enclosure anywhere other than right next to a USB port, you're likely to need something else. Even when using a known-good cable, the enclosure still performed inconsistently. Plugged into some USB ports it would not be detected at all, but others (both on very common Intel controllers) seemed to see it just fine. Once connected, the performance was pretty bad, but I can't say for certain if that would be the case on other systems as well. In Ubuntu, I was only able to achieve read speeds of about 30mb/s, while the same drive clocks in around 130mb/s when connected directly to a SATA port. Overall, it worked, just not reliably or with anywhere near the level of performance you'd expect from a USB 3.1 enclosure.

Poor design. doesn't fit well

Se instala fácil y viene con todo lo necesario, el cable viene bien empacado y es de alta taza de transferencia, siempre y cuando sea USB 3.2 o thunderbolt

Buen producto, le instale un disco duro 3.5pulgadas sin problemas, por el precio es de muy buen material y fácil de instalar, en el sistema operativo windows no tengo problemas al reconocer el dispositivo, pero en MacOs no me reconoce el dispositivo en puerto c ya con programas particiones de terceros.......dudo que exista otro producto similar por este precio, la entrega por parte de Amazon Excelente.

Muy difícil de abrir, pero muy fácil de usar, incluye gomas internas qué sirven para ajustar y anti vibración pero son batallosas de usar, en mi caso tengo dos Laptop en una laptop no quiere reconocer el disco sin importar el cable en la otra funciona a la perfección
