Why did I need a RX for this when it sells on line w/out one?

This product used to be a prescription only. (Lachydrin 12%) It is now available without a script on line and also in pharmacies.

I need to know the ingredients of 12% Amononium lactate lotion? Does anyone have that?

Lactic Acid 12% Water, light mineral oil, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, propylene glycol, glycerin, magnesium aluminum silicate, laureth-4-polyoxyl 40 stearate, cetyl alcohol, methyl and propyl parabens (preservatives) and methylcellulose.

What does the C-P mean? There is also a bottle available without the C-P.

Mine is with (not without as I said earlier!!) . this was recommended by dermatologist for cracked skin on heels. Love it!!!! but I have never used it on my face! Might just try it after reading other comments!

What is the difference between this and Amlactin ? Is this just a generic ? Thanks

I have found no difference. I assume it is the generic, only much cheaper and larger sizes. I don't have to buy it as often. I find it works the same, or better because it spreads easier.
