reliable for greenhouse
I like that it reliably runs all day, often even in overcast conditions. It's not too powerful butworks great for keeping airflow through my tomatoes but I eventually had to go with a 100w solar setup for the bigger fans. I'm still happy with the purchase though. This little fan has been running all day long for months now.Update: This little fan has been reliably running all day, everyday for 8 months now. I just purchased a second one. Now that the summer is over and it's getting colder, I found I can sufficiently keep the air moving in the greenhouse with just two of these fans. They both run all day when the sun is out and I don't have to turn them on and off every morning and night. The fan automatically comes on when the sun comes out.Very impressed with these reliable fans. I will buy these again when they eventually stop working. Well worth the money.

The little fan that couldn't..
(Sorry about the pictures, I was trying to convey size, show what it looks like, and capture the fan blade..)Here's the thing.. Pretty sure I paid $30ish for this fan.. Was planning on putting it in a chicken coop to fan off the birds during the hotter months.. HA! I thought the fan would be 10inches.. It's pretty small (3 inche blade)... The mechanics of the cord attatching to the solar panel and the solar panel working was pretty exciting! You could, theoretically, attatch a cell phone (as an added bonus) to charge in the event of a power outage..but really, not so much. The fan is super weak.. I'm aware that it depends on sunlight hitting the solar panel to work.. In DIRECT, sunny, sunlight this fan isn't really fanning or blowing anything.. It spins, but it's not cooling anything down..especially not my chickens. ACTUALLY, THE FAN PUSHES MORE AIR BACKWARDS THAN FORWARDS..so if you're behind it, you get a tiny breeze, but not really.. **thought I'd put that in all caps in case you missed it.. THIS FAN DOESN'T REALLY FAN..AND WHEN IT DOES, IT'S OUT IT'S BEHIND..So, I mean.. I guess I'm out $30/ got what I paid for.. It's a neat product idea..but the one I received today falls short of the mark.. Doesn't really fan/blow..any airflow comes backwards from the fan, and (whereas I was excited about potentially having a solar phone charger in the place of my fan that didn't fan) I couldn't even get a charge, because it drained my battery more than added to it..Thanks anyway..Save your $$

Not a good kit , fan ok , solar panel not enough power
The fan works . But not very well with the solar panel , the solar panel don't make the power needed for the far . Put the Dan on other power the fan works ok . I would say buy just a fan ! Not a kit . I thinks if you would like a solar panel with a fan make sure the panel is 10 volts or more .

Works for plant seedlings
Bought this for my 6x8 green house to move some air around for the seedlings I had planted. I was surprised at the amount of air it does move for its size and from what I read on other solar fans in this price range. That being said its been great for the seedlings because I have it positioned right next to the tray but if you’re looking for something to lower the temperature inside this won’t make a difference. I also wouldn’t use it if you’re trying to cool off in the heat, because it’s not strong enough to feel any cooling sensation unless you’re within a foot of the fan. But I’m giving it 5 stars because it does what I wanted it to do. I also did come back and purchase a second fan for other trays of seedlings I have and it’s working just as good as the first so I’m very pleased with that.

Pros and cons
When I first plugged together outside in he cloudy sky, I was surprised the sprung to life! Then within a few days, one died, the other works great even in the shade and cloud cover. Tried to call for answers but with viruses, no one answers phone, so I unscrewed the back and noticed one wire was not adhering to the weld which makes it run. So I twisted the wire around it, and it worked! Only for a day, need welding goop to help. I should not have to repair new products. Already ordered two more before the one conked out. Will wait to see how they work and get a return lapel for all that need to be returned. It's a shame, I am using for my rescued animals out in the Texas heat, and glad the one that works is in the injured hen habitat with her injured guinea pig roommate. Need more than four, can easily use eight to ten of them but they MUST WORK! Please use stronger weld for wires!!!

nice little fan but solar panel won't power it
Got the fan to circulate air within a parked car so the desiccant would work better. Wanted solar powered fan so I wouldn't have to run power.Fan works great when plugged into a USB outlet; that's why 2 stars instead of 1.When plugged into the included solar panel, it would think about turning but wouldn't actually operate. Took about 10 sec to make one revolution, and it was very jerky as it went around.Overall like the fan, but doesn't serve its intended purpose

Just like others, stopped within 1 week
As others have stated - don't waste your time or money with this awful solar fan system!!I think the maker should have paired this with a fan that has a battery that charges up and that has a system to prevent over charging - I have another like that and it works great. I think the issue here is if your sun gets super hot it sends too much into the fan for it to handle and burns it out. Don't waste your money. Instead get a fan that has a rechargeable battery (many do this that charge via usb cord) then pair it with a solar panel and cord that connects via usb and verify the panel isn't over powered for the fan (although if the fan has the system to prevent overcharging, which I believe most chargeable fans do, then this shouldn't be as big of a deal).
