How much paint and glue is needed to complete this model?

How much do you have? Ok, I'm kidding. I painted the body with a can of spray paint from Auto Zone. They have these smallish cans there that are supposed to be for spot repairs on real cars. I found a nice metallic blue that looked gorgeous. One can will paint 4 to 5 model cars. For the frame (VW guys call it the "pan") I bought a large can of flat black Rustoleum from Home Depot and it will paint a dozen or so chassis. For the interior and all the engine details I bought a Testors Promotional Enamel Paint Set. That gave me plenty of different colors from which to choose. As for glue, I bought one small container of Zap-a-Gap at a local hobby store. This is a Cyano-acrylate that you can use for almost everything on the model EXCEPT you must NOT use on windows. For that, I use Elmers White glue. Find a YouTube video on how to glue in model car windows with white glue. The little bottle of Zap-a-Gap (or equivalent) super glue will do dozens and dozens of models. If you are buying this for a gift, you could spend a few coins getting set up but, in the end, it all comes back in hobby enjoyment.

Do the doors and the front hood open?

No, only the rear door can be mounted on open position.

Excellent Beetle build.

A very good rendition of VW beetie should be. Easily to assemble & clean fitting parts, very nice raised trim lines with only 2 small mold lines on the front fenders, that were easily fixed threw minor scrape & sanding.I would have prefered pad-printed WW tires but the decals were fine & easy to use. All the the decal's were easy 2 use due to more glue on the decal. In my opinion Revell makes very outstanding kits with dedicated perfection with each one made, I know I own 4.😆

Well made model!

When I was young, back in the late 50's and 60's, I had accumulated 110 car "customizing kits". But Revell wasn't considered very good because their models just didn't seem to meet up with AMT or SMP models standards. BUT I GOT THIS REVELL MODEL, AND WAS BLOWN AWAY! It is very well made, all parts made perfect, and even great instructions! Now, that is PROGRESS! You rock Revell!

Very entertaining

Loved it. It took me a bit to paint the pieces to my style, once they dried up good… building it was very easy.This is my second car building. It’s may not be perfect, but for me it is. I’m very proud of myself.

Love it

I painted mine green and the interior tan the same as my 1971 Volkswagen that I bought brand new it looks fantastic. However, the parts were way too small and very difficult for a senior to first see the number and second to put it in my fingers and put it on the car.
