What is the long, white tube shaped thing on the left side of the bead filter?

At first I didn't see the item you were asking about until I opened the pic in another web page. It appears to me to be a pic of the "head control unit" that's on top of and inside the tank. I'm not sure why they show it to the left of the tank pic - normally this is inserted in the top of the tank and you would only see the "head" unit. The pic seems to be showing the unit in the tank and outside of the tank in one pic. Probably a pic mix up. It really looks more like the little graphic of the tank. Hope this helps - the really are great performing tanks with minimum upkeep.
