Can't hold 500w
It Fail to hold over 100w. Drops at 150w. But then the seller saw my comment and fully refund me. So you're in good hands.

24v should use half the watts a 12v uses
this inverter does not step down the wattage as it should by doubling the voltage. it in fact uses the same wattage as the plug in powered device uses at 12v, thus actually doubling what it would use at 12v. for example a device using 40 watts at 12vdc should only use 20 watts at 24vdc, but does not. using this inverter the device that uses 40 watts at 12vdc is using the same 40 watts at 24vdc, thus the efficiency would equal 80 watts at 12vdc. plus the inverter itself adds an additional 15 watts when nothing is plugged in, but turned on. i would not recommend, nor would i purchase it again.
