This Transfer Sling is a Lifesaver (and back-saver) for our Family!
This product has been an absolute lifesaver for our family. We care for an elder with ambulatory challenges, and this sling has made transferring them from their wheelchair to other locations in the house much easier. It appears to be well-manufactured with strong stitching. While we've only used it for a week, it gets used multiple times a day and has already become an invaluable asset to my caregiver toolbox. One tip for the manufacturer: It would be helpful to add a patch or label to distinguish the top from the bottom, as the sling cannot be used upside down. That would be a great feature upgrade!

Not a "board"; more like a soft fabric chair shape
This says "transfer board" but it is not actually a board at all, as you may notice from pictures. It is made of a thick, durable canvas material in the shape of a seat, including side panels for extra safety, along with a belt strap and a strap that can be belted over the legs. There are handles on each side for caregivers to use to lift the person seated in this contraption. This would be something you'd first have set on a wheelchair or seat that they't then sit on (like a seat cover) or that you got them in a seated position on in some other way. For what it is, I think it is useful. It will fit a 200lb person sitting on it (it is wide enough). The straps are strong, but be aware that because this is flexible and soft, with no board or boning in it, that does make it a little more awkward to lift the person. The Amazon pictures show 2 people lifting the person, and really, that would be safest. I can see situations in which this could even be helpful in a car, set on the seat before the person sat down. In this case, I can see how help from even one person could work to assist the person in getting out of the car, whether getting them upright or in a wheelchair. I do wish it had an optional slide-in board for a bit of rigidity, but even as is, I think this will be helpful.

Excellent Device
My wife has stage four cancer and getting up and down stairs got to be impossible. She weighs 150 pounds. While two people might be able to take her down the stairs I found using four people made the task safer and easier. Rather than positioning the lifter on the side we put two in front and two in back. This allows for more room while negotiating the stairs and stair well. The quality of the product is very good. It’s built to last.

Good idea but hard to use
Liked the idea of this product but was very hard to use. The hand straps seemed too long so was hard to use to lift the person and move them from bed to chair or wheelchair to a chair. It allowed too much movement of the person and was hard to position them. Tried it with a physical therapist as the other lifter and she agreed that it was not easy to use. Would suggest the straps be shortened to improve the product. Am returning it.

Good item for use as intended
This is a good item to have on hand for emergency evacuation on stairs for someone who is unable to walk. It is also practice for transporting someone off a wheel chair. Make sure you recognise the weight limit. Also be careful that it is intended to be handled by two individuals so never attend to carry someone alone using this you may end up causing injury to yourself and to the opera on you are trying to transfer. My main issue is that we received an item that seems to have been used and returned.
