Love Altra
These are great hiking shoes and I use them when landscaping around the yard. Helps minimize my Morton's neuroma numbness and pain since it has a large toe box. True to size fit. Nothing bad about the lone Peak 8 shoe model. The only thing that's bad about the company (Altra) is they run out of shoes fast (especially my size 14). I learned my lesson with the Escalante 4's (also a great shoe model) when I bought them to try them out and then loved them... but when I went back to purchase another pair the Escalante's they were all out of my size. So what did I do when I read the favorable views on the Lone Peak 8? I bought 2 pairs in my size without waiting to try them out. Once again, great comfort with that larger toe box for my aging 45 year feet. I only wish I had ordered a third pair to get me through the year before the lone peak 9's come out since I'm pretty rough with the wear and tear I put on my shoes (and body for that matter)... when I went back online to order them a couple months later, they were sold out in my size... again, lol!If you haven't looked at trying Altra, I'd give them a chance and make a run at them.... pun intended. They're great for folks on their feet all day like folks working in a hospitality/restaurant job, hospital, packaging/parcel job, etc.... and off course running, walking and hiking.

Nice wide toe box
This is probably my son’s fifth or sixth pair over the years, they last longer than it takes for him to outgrow them. I’ve bought these twice as well for myself. Very comfortable and great for people who need a wide toe box.

Finally, Shoes That Let Your Toes Breathe!
Atlas shoes are a game-changer for anyone tired of cramped, narrow toe boxes. Unlike brands like Adidas and Nike, which squeeze your toes until they can’t move or breathe, Atlas offers a roomy, comfortable toe box that gives your feet the freedom they deserve. I used to love Salomon shoes, but ever since Adidas acquired them, their toe boxes became just just as bad as the rest. Narrow shoes can lead to sweaty feet and even fungus issues, but Atlas solves that problem with their smart design. These shoes are perfect for keeping your feet happy and healthy. Highly recommend!

My Go To for Backpacking
I give 5 stars to products that meet or exceed my expectations. These do. I bought them on a Friday and the following day went for a 3 night backpack of the TCT on Catalina. This is a ridge following trail with lots of rock and ups and downs. These trail shoes performed extremely well. They are very close to zero drop, but not quite. They breath well, have excellent grip uphill and downhill. I usually take a 12 in trail shoes but ordered a 12.5 because I owned the original Lone Peaks which proved too short in my regular size. The reason: I have a Morton toe (longer middle toe than the rest). If you are looking for shoes with a broad toe box that lets your toes spread out, this is the pair. If you are looking for some volume above you toes, this is the pair. If you are looking for a shoe with a soft but tight fitting heel counter, this the pair. Very Lightweight. Great Backpacking trail shoes.

They work for me. On my 2nd pair.
Like any shoe, these can be a hit or miss depending on the shape of your foot. I suggest you try in a store first, if possible. For me, these are a 100% hit and I'm on my 2nd pair. I tried several Altra trail models and the LP8 felt the best. I also had not worn a zero-drop shoe prior to my first pair, and I really like them. The LP8 have just the right amount of cushion for me, and I don't feel there has been a lack of protection on technical trails, even with a loaded 55L backpack. I used to hike/backpack in a LaSportiva boot, but I'm a fan of using these for dry, 3-season conditions.I'm not a fan of the large stack height trail runners, so was more drawn to the LP. Hoka's and other brands just didn't work for my foot. I've primarily used these as my daily shoe (gym, walks, etc.) and for hiking/backpacking. I've done a couple backpacking trips with them in the Rockies this summer and while the soles have taken a beating, there are no tears in the shoe fabric. My only minor complaint is that the sole tread is soft and tends to wear pretty quickly if you're on pavement/technically rocky terrain a lot. Wear issues aside, I really enjoy this shoe as it works great for me. I'm 6' and 200 lbs. No blow outs in the fabric for me and the midsole has held up, even with heavy use.

Nice wide toe box
Love the wide toe box. Nicely designed shoe. Not as water resistant as I expected — call All Season. (I’ve gotten these shoes in the past and they were more water resistant.)Lightweight but not flimsy.

Like a glove!
As a disc golfer, I was always trying to find a good pair of shoes with great traction and comfortable. Having size 13 extra wide feet, not an easy task. Friend of mine recommended Altras as they have a wide toe box. Got a pair of Lone Peak 7s a couple years ago and found that 12.5 wide is the perfect fit. The zero drop took a little getting used too but I must say, THE best pair of shoes I have ever had.Sadly, after 2 years of casual use, I was due for a new pair. I actually bought Lone Peak 9s but in 13 wide as that was all I could find. While nice, they were just a bit too long. Took them back and ordered these Lone Peak 8s in 12.5 wide."Like a glove!"The new best shoes I have ever worn for throwing some discs.Great traction, great color and very comfortable! The price is worth it!

Terrible seller, great shoes
Shoes are great seller is terrible. Do not buy from the seller. The shoes came in a dirty cardboard box not a shoe box. It wasn’t sealed no tape or anything. There was just grit everywhere. I would have to wash them before I could even use them. They seem used, but it could just be how dirty they are. I’ve had this shoe before and they’re awesome so the shoe was great. Just buy it from someone else.
