Delicious. In a pinch I’d eat this at home.
I picked this up for a backpacking trip in Rocky Mountain State Park. Simple prep and was a sufficiently filling meal for me. This was easily the most delicious dinner I had on the trip. I’ve picked up a couple more for my emergency food supply at home. Highly recommend!

Way better than expected.
I was hoping it would be good and my wife was expecting it would be terrible or weird. As it turned out it was excellent Made on our camp stove it was easy to prepare. The texture of the pasta was good but the meat was just a bit off. The flavor was the unexpected part. It tasted really good. I will definitely buy again.

Not Bad, Not My Favorite
I have been enjoying freeze dried meals for over two decades. I use them for hiking, camping , road trips and emergency supplies. I find them to be very convenient with exceptional shelf life. I have eaten meals that were close to 20 years old with no noticeable difference in quality. My favorite brand has always been Mountain House. I just personally find their meals to taste the best. I had never tried Backpackers Pantry, so when I came across this item I decided to give it a go.This Backpackers Pantry Beef Bolognese arrived in packaging that is very similar to most brands. Thick plastic that can withstand being stuffed into a backpack without worry of it tearing or opening up on its own. Easy to open tear-off top, with the requisite oxygen absorber inside. Preparation was very easy and also on par with most brands. Remove the oxygen absorber, add boiling water, stir, seal and wait. Stir again, wait some more and then eat. Best Buy date was 2034 giving it at least a 10-year shelf life, but if stored properly I expect you could easily get 20.Once prepared the consistency was pretty goo. Tender, but not mushy noodles and good amount of sauce without being soupy. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the vegetables still feel like they could have used a little bit longer as they were pretty crunchy still. The flavor was not what I was hoping for in a Bolognese. It wasn’t bad, just not my favorite. I prefer the Mountain House Beef Lasagna over this by a far margin in terms of taste.Overall, I think the quality is top tier as far as freeze dried meals go. I did not like the flavor as much as some other brands, but that is highly subjective.

Terrible
Love this Brand, but hate this flavor. Horrible taste.

Fantastic flavor. Significant flatulence.
I loved the taste but make sure your tent is well ventilated at night. Not to be eaten before sharing a tent with others. Nothing like hot-boxing yourself in your own sleeping bag. 5 stars.
