This product functions wonderfully, as long as you are willing to work with its quirks. The power cord for your phone cannot be pulling down and back on the phone or it won't stay on. The solution I found that works is to simply position the phone so that the power cord goes off to the side or out the top. Otherwise, fantastic. It is very solidly built, metal mostly, and the "sticky" pad holds its tackiness time after time. Highly recommended!

If you love techno-gismos, here comes your new love afair.There was only one review here on Amazon for all Clingo products combined when I got the podium stand version of this Clingo "stuff". I found reviews of it on android phones discussion boards and they were all unanimously favorable and full of praise, so just in case it only worked somewhat I did get only the podium stand version of the Clingo for my new Droid X to have a special place on my desk during the day and bedside at night. I have had GPS devices mounted in my cars several ways for many years now and was quite happy with the setup I had untill I got the Droid and before I knew about this Clingo, but my previous setup only worked for the one device it came with, and as we enter the second decade of the 21st century one mount per each device we have just looks silly.So now that the Clingo podium stand has arrived, my first worry was much more about getting my "consumer device" off of this Clingo thing, cause it seriously looked like it might not come off, ever! Definitely not falling off. Will not pull off either, must be pealed off. I will get one for my car very soon, and maybe a couple of the stands for my 2 iPods (one for music, one for audio books). I am very happy about this because all the other "universal" mounts look bulky and clumsy. Also playing games on my Droid X will be easier with the Clingo stand holding it up so I dont hunch over the Droid, and it will work better then, and instead of, the Motorola docking station too.Another reason I am very excited about this is because the Clingo podium and/or the stand will make a perfect b-day/Christmas gift for everyone I know who owns a phone, especially those people who already have everything. Next I am going to the Clingo website to see if they have anything written about who and how invented this stuff, it is amazing and fun and just fascinating.Also, I am not sure why they say it will not work with silicone. Cause I am not taking the silicon case off my phone and it sticks to it perfectly fine. Without the silicon case I would have to worry about Clingo keeping the Droid battery cover when I want to take my phone off of it. The silicone does make it ever so slightly easier to remove the "electronic consumer device" from the Clingo then the metal backing of the iPod does. But I can see that it sticks strong enough to work with the Clingo mount in the car too. When I put the iPod on it it just looks like that's it, forget it - it's there forever and what am I gonna do now? Then you peel it off and it's like, relief... hmm, it really does work, wow, now how the heck did they do that? amazing.

I bought this stand for my desk at work to use with my HTC Evo 4g phone last year in May. Since then, I have used it almost everyday. It worked fantastically for about the first 8 months. The green stuff was sticky, and when it started to get dirty from use and dust and such, I just followed the directions and rinsed it off with water and a mild soap to get the oils from my fingers off. Now though, after a year, it isn't so sticky anymore, which is sad, because it was very very nice to use. It was easily manipulative, by just swiveling the stand however you want to use it. It also is incredibly sturdy. The base is solid metal and because of this is nice and heavy and sturdy sitting on a desktop with even the heaviest device on it without tipping. My Evo has the white back which is glossy plastic and it stuck to that so well that the I had to be careful to not pull the back off my phone when I pulled it off, but I look on that as a plus, at least I knew my phone wasn't going to fall off! It was easy to hook a finger over and hold the back on when I pried the phone off the stand. But my wife's Evo has the black back which is a rubberized plastic and it didn't stick very well to the stand. It would stick, it just would fall off after a bit. Pretty much the same story with my protective case. So having to take it out of the case to set it up on my desk and put it back in etc, etc, etc gets to be a pain, but overall, not a dealbreaker for me. The folks at Clingo have stated that they are actively trying to come up with a fix for this issue, but as of yet, no dice.So for the relatively low cost, and the versatility of being able to use it with any brand/type of phone/device, I think this is worth the money to buy, just be ready for the few minor annoyances that come with it.

Bought this for the wife in February. She uses it at the office, so no children with dirty fingers mess with it. Only dirt it gets is pretty much dust. Nothing heavier than an iPhone has ever been on it.2.5 months in she washed it with water like it says on the box as it started losing the "stickiness". The thing can't hold anything any more unless I apply so much pressure on the screen of the phone I feel it'll crack.It was great the first month, but that's about it.If I bought this from a big box store, I'd refund it for sure. I won't bother with this one, but I definitely won't be getting another one or recommending this to anyone.

It works exactly as advertised. I purchased one for my iPhone and one for my iPad and another for a friend. Simple clean lines.
