Got this for a bit of extra peace of mind after having the boiler serviced — it’s simple, affordable, and does what it says on the tin. Just plug it in and it starts up with a quick self-test. The screen’s clear and shows the gas levels in real time, which is a reassuring little feature.It’s not the fanciest-looking bit of kit, but it’s small enough that it doesn’t get in the way. The alarm is loud enough to grab attention if anything’s wrong, though thankfully we haven’t had to put it to the test yet.Only thing to note is it needs to be plugged in quite low down (as gas tends to settle), so make sure you’ve got a spare socket near floor level. Also worth knowing it doesn't have battery backup, so if your power goes, it won’t work — something to keep in mind if you want full coverage.Overall though, for a simple plug-and-go detector, it does the job well and offers some added reassurance without fuss.

So I bought this product as weirdly kept smelling gas in our bedroom. I did not think for one minute it was.In the early hours of the morning the detector started going off scoring a 3. But Went off when I opened the window. When I closed the window it happened again.I still was skeptical after reading some reviews of false readings.I did call the gas board and it was discovered we had quite a significant gas leak.If I hadn’t bought this product it may notOf ended so well.

I smelt gas, the alarm didn't go off.I smelt more gas, the alarm still didn't go off.The Gas company came out and confirmed that was a gas leak, the alarm still didn't go off.The gas got shut off and this useless piece of rubbish went in the bin.It's dangerous as it gives you a false sense of security.Don't trust yours or your family's safety to this.

Every home with gas appliances should have one. One of these detected an intermittent/low grade gas leak in the middle of the night. Later a slow CO leak from our boiler was confirmed. Surprisingly the CO alarm did not go off at all but this gas detector did. Feeling lucky and would recommend this alarm as a potential life saver, no hesitation.
