SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TS01-N Tsunami Tanto Knife with Straight Edge Fixed 6.5-Inch AUS-8 Steel Blade and Black Kraton Handle, Satin Finish

I bought this as a gift for someone, and I might buy another one for myself. Very nice knife, it came sharp enough to shave with. Also very visually appealing, and packaged well. The sheath that it comes with is also great, very well made out of what seems to be cordura with molle webbing on the back. There is a plastic insert where the blade goes, and a velcro strap to hold it in place. Strong enough that it wont let the knife fall out, but so that it isnt a hassle to draw the knife. It also has a small pouch that will fit a magazine for a USP compact, so I'm sure it will fit many other double-stacked magazines.

Mine came with several tooling marks and the guard was not centered with the tang. It was medium sharp.

The SOG Tsunami was a birthday present from my daughter and son-in-law via an Amazon gift card. I had been thinking about this knife forsome time and so I picked it as my present. The knife was not in stock when I ordered it, but for the price, it was well worth the wait. The only complaint I have is that SOG evidently does not make a kydex sheath for this knife. If they did, I would order it. That aside, I really like the knife. I like the blade shape and that the blade appears very strong, due to the tanto style. Overall, a serious knife

It's not a bad value for the price, but it's a far cry from SOGs better knives. I bought this because the Vulcan was out of production, but it just isn't in the same league. Even though the blade is the same approximate thickness, it feels light and cheap in comparison. I ended up buying a second hand Vulcan and this is now just a backup knife that goes in the camping gear.

I decided to take a leap of faith when I made this purchase and am very pleased with the results.A few weeks I decided to.take advantage of a sale on the SOG Kobun 17T, which is a similar style knife and was hugely disappointed when I received it.I Immediately returned it for a refund and was turned off by SOG all together.The Kobun came in a cheaply made box which reminded me of something you would buy at a Flea Market and even at the seemingly great sale price of $35 it was a piece of junk.But I wanted a blade that was this size and style which was made from tested materials and that was highly reviewed.After searching all of the big companies in the industry the one that I kept coming back to was the Tsunami.First impression was that it was well packaged in a nice box with molded plastic trays inside for each piece.Also that Lifetime Warranty is printed right on the end of the box.The design, appointments and blade finish are very nice as so expected to see from photos online.It feels really nice in handIts light but not like a cheaply made knife, just not anywhere near as heavy as my Kabar.The Jumping on the spine of the blade is very aggressive and when the knife is places in a defensive position it locks in the hand very nicely.The blade is also very sharp out of the box,I typically would sharpen even a brand new knife but may not on this guy.I.also want to note that the sheath is a lot nicer than it looks in the photos you may see online.I pretty much had decided I would be making a kydex sheath for it before it even came in because I thought the sheath was just a cheapo nylon sheath but it a solidly made sheath.It has a composite sleeve inside of the nylon where the blade is stored and is stiff enough that it could effectively be used in many positions.There are multiple loops on the back side and there is a strap with a snap end.Also there are attachment points for paracord.All In all my first impression is that its a nice package especially at this price.The only reason I only gave 4 stars was that its made in Taiwan and second is that I dont know how it will fair in the future.

Out of all the knives I have, this is the first to rust, and I only had it for a week. The only thing I cut was the box it came in to test the sharpness, but after that I just had it in my car, and when I open it up, rust lined the inside.

This is a high quality knife from SOG, which you would expect. The handle gives good grip, I have a medium size hand. I like the sheath also, which has a hard plastic insert that the blade fits into while the rest is heavy duty nylon. I's mole compatible which is a huge plus. To nit pick, the finger guard is extremely sharp, and could irritate some index fingers. Another nit pick is the velcro strap to keep the knife in the sheath, it's not big and beefy. It will do the job, I just expected something a bit bigger to better match the mole setup on the back of the sheath.

This is the knife you will want in your hand when creeps and lower life forms think that breaking into your house is a great idea. First greet them with your gun... finish the job with this beauty. After all it is so beautiful and well made that it would be selfish keeping it all to yourself. The strong blade, the straight line, the needle sharp end....yea... it's a beauty.
