I needed an in-between sized level, this looked like it should fit the bill. Hadn't heard of the make before, but thought I would take a gamble, especially as it had 4 angles. With most levels you don't get the 30 degree. It came about a week early. It feels tank-like solid. Has 4 strong magnets on its base. It looks and feels like a quality product and seems to be up their with the top labels, though at much less a cost. It cannot be seen from the photo but, you can see the bubbles from above as well as from the side.Would I buy it again? Definitely, however, it'll almost certainly last for years and years. Still, it's the wife's birthday in a few months, I'm sure she'll be as happy to receive one as I was. := )

On the whole we have to put up with over priced under engineered cheap tools in the UK usually made in China. This American Swanson level is a breath of fresh air, you can feel the quality as soon as you hold it, it's absolutely spot on and will probably last a lifetime if not abused. The sooner we get a trade deal with the US so we can get more of this stuff over here the better. Oh, also it was delivered quite quickly.

I have been using the Klein Tools lighted torpedo level for a few years and it's simply a superlative piece of kit. However, with shipping from the US, it comes out at double the price of this Swanson model, so I dove in and tried the Savage Lightning.... It's a really nice quality looking and feeling tool. I can't attest to accuracy, but in terms of feel and look, it's great. But there is one big deficiency if comparing directly with the Klein Tools model, which is the weak-assed magnets! The magnets themselves are well positioned, as in the KT version, but they are like most other torpedo level magnets - not the strongest. And this cast aluminium level is weighty for its size, so you will have to try not to bump into or brush against it, lest it may fall and incur damage. A handy tool for putting up metalwork in dark or confined spaces, but if you want one with more sticking power, find someone who will sell you the Klein Tools model, even for £50 or £60, it destroys ALL competition if you need a strong magnetic torpedo level..

Awesome bit of kit, zeros level by turning , unlike stabila which needs you to press a button when you think the bubble is correct !

Quality item.Bit of getting used to with the horizontal vial being to one side. But solid, and light up function a real bonus
