Great product for helping plaque not to stick!
This stuff is very palatable! Sprinkle over meals and thatโs it. It works best in preventing plaque from sticking! So, either start using when the dog is young and teeth are clean, or after a dental cleaning. You can most definitely use at anytime but it works better starting with clean teeth. I do use it on an old dog with bad teeth. It helps with the breath and will help with some plaque. I keep it handy always. Be consistent!

Actually works!!!
Weโve been using this for about 2.5 weeks now with my two dogs. Their breath is SO much better! Iโve been trying so many different additives and this is the only one that has helped their breath!!! Two thumbs up! Seems to be very effective for controlling their stinky breath. The dogs donโt mind the taste and itโs easy to add to their food. I did have to buy a teeny little scooper though to make sure I was giving accurate amounts.

Works well, but can't finish a bottle.
I have three cats with differing health needs. The one I originally bought it for would develop plaque on his teeth pretty quickly and needed cleanings almost yearly. This product has kept his teeth clean so well I haven't has to schedule a cleaning for him in two years! Another cat had pretty healthy teeth and gums for almost 8 years. His diet is mostly wet food for urinary issues. It caught up to him a year ago with plaque starting to develop. The vet wanted to schedule a cleaning soon. I decided to try the powder with him. With his health issues, our vet and I am leery to change his diet. But I decided to slowly add the powder and cross my fingers we wouldn't have to go through another UTI. Six months later, we took this cat in for a checkup and his teeth were clean and his good health is maintaining. Out third cat is somewhat feral. She adopted us and our workshop after a close call with a hawk. She doesn't like being handled much so getting her to a vet has not been possible. She's also been getting the perio powder, but since I can't handle her, its hard to say how her teeth are. My fingers are crossed that this product is having the same benefit for her as my other cats. All the cats have no problem eating their food with the powder mixed in, until there's about a quarter of the bottle left. Then they start to refuse their food. In one way, I'm losing money when I have to throw out almost a quarter of the jar, but gaining with no vet bills for teeth cleaning. I've thought about changing to a different brand if I could find one in a smaller bottle, but then I have no idea if another brand will work as well as this one. So I am staying with this brand, but I do wish I could figure out a way to keep the last of the powder fresh enough for them to finish it.

Works Great for Plaque Buildup
This product has done a great job for my boxer. My vet had previously told me she needed a dental cleaning ($1,500) because of plaque and tartar buildup, so I started using this powder regularly. At our follow-up visit, the vet said her teeth looked great. Iโm really happy with the results and truly believe this product made the difference. Itโs been an easy addition to her routine and well worth it for us. A lot cheaper and less invasive for my girl and my pocketbook!

Works for bad.
Have been using this on my small dachshunds for about a year now. Iโm on my second bottle! It works for bad breath. When used consistently my dogs breath does not smell bad. I will say, it will not fully clean or keep plaque off if the dog already has dental issues. My oldest is going to be 14, she has had most of her teeth removed but we use this in between the cleanings and removals with the vet. I canโt brush them because her gums are sensitive. Also, once a dog has dental disease it is almost impossible to get rid of if you canโt keep up with consistent brushing, this does help to remove some bacteria and smell though

Toxic for small dogs or cats!!
Vetriscience is a 40 year old company that I typically trust. I purchased this for my 3-lb Pomeranian to use alongside the 1-TDC gel caps and daily brushing. However, I would not recommend using it for cats or very small dogs. The dosing can be tricky, and their smaller size makes them more vulnerable to potential side effects. If you research โnatural zeolites,โ youโll find they are known for their ability to bind heavy metals such as arsenic and lead. Zeolites are naturally occurring minerals found in volcanic rock formations and marine sedimentary layers. Zeolite is a family of naturally occurring (and sometimes synthetic) microporous aluminosilicate minerals that act as ion-exchange adsorbents. Common types include clinoptilolite, chabazite, mordenite, analcime, erionite, ferrierite, heulandite, laumontite, and phillipsite. This product is typically sprinkled onto food, but since dogs often sniff their meals before eating, there is a real concern about inhalation. In powdered form, zeolite can become airborne, and inhaling mineral dust may irritate the lungs. While not all zeolites are harmful, some forms like erionite are classified as carcinogens when inhaled, and itโs best to avoid chronic exposure to any fine mineral dust in pets. The term โnaturalโ has become a bit of a marketing buzzword, often implying purity or safety without clear definition. Even โnaturalโ zeolites can bind essential minerals like zinc, copper, and magnesium, potentially leading to nutrient deficiencies and placing extra stress on the kidneys over time. This could be particularly harmful in small breeds or pets with pre-existing kidney issues. While zeolites can help break down bacterial biofilms, such as those that cause plaque, I believe VetriScience could have opted for a less risky ingredient in a product intended for daily use. The mineral-binding properties are a double-edged sword: potentially beneficial for detox or oral health, but not without risksโespecially for tiny dogs whose liver may not tolerate this.

Not all pets love this.
While it may be a great product. ALL my pets would not eat their food with this in it. Tried it on dogs and cats. Even just a sprinkle to get them used to it in the food didn't work in this house. It does have a pretty pungent smell. It was worth a try.

Worth the price!
This power has done a great job for my dogโs teeth. He gets his teeth brushed when he goes to the groomer and this power helps upkeep his teeth without me having to brush them everyday. I wish I would have started giving it to him sooner. Pet dental bills are expensive so the amount of money I pay for these seems like such a small price to pay to keep his dental health in check.

Excellent Product
I love this product. I read somewhere that it helps stop the tear stains in white dogs so as I have a Maltese, I decided to try it. I think it works by killing the bacteria that causes the staining. It worked very well and I sent for more. Highly recommended.
