perfect for my little pony
We recently adopted an older pony (sheโs 20) who is mostly blind. She had eye infections, corneal abrasions, and was in discomfort. The vet recommended a fly mask as preferable to using fly spray on her face so we got her this one and are very pleased. The mask fits her perfectly! It is soft and the elastic though not tight, does a great job in effectively staying snug. It has definitely been very effective in keeping the flies out of her eyes. She accepts it with no fuss every morning (we remove it for nighttime). It hasnโt torn or snagged and washes up well in the machine in a laundry bag. She looks so cute and stylish with her forelock extending through the opening made just for that, which I also believe helps to hold the mask in place. Thanks to this mask and her medications her comfort level is improving daily. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Fits my mini perfectly!
This is the first time I've bought one of these stretch fly masks. I have a hard time finding fly masks that fit my mini, so thought that this one would be a good option. It fits him perfectly and he is super comfortable in it. I like that it doesn't have velcro. It keeps the flies out of his eyes and seems durable enough for daily wear. Overall a good value!

Nice mask, but not โthe oneโ
Iโve yet to find a fly mask that my mare cannot get off. This one is no exception, BUT she does seem to tolerate it longer than any other type. I wonโt knock a product because my mare is too smart for her own good, but I will take a star off because after only 24 hours, there was a small hole already in the eye area. The mesh is nice, but itโs not as sturdy as standard fly masks. So when they do remove it and trample it, it just doesnโt hold up. The things I like: the snugness to her face. Sheโs on the smaller side of a quarter horse and the cob size fit perfect. I like the forelock hole. The colors are great. I like how the mesh โbubblesโ around her eyes. Less eye rubbing than with a traditional mask. This fits under a bridle better than a traditional mask. This mask is super easy to put on, and obviously easy for both of us to take off! Things I donโt like: simply not robust enough for my mask killer, at this price point. If I had a horse that tolerated masks better I wouldnโt hesitate to stock my barn with these.

The stretch is nice to keep bugs out, the horse size fits a variety of horses!
I purchased five of these: four in horse size, and one that's pony size; I wish a mini size were available as I'd purchase two more. The horse size actually covers a nice range of horses. It fits my petite 14.3 hand mare nicely, and covers the horses in my barn up to my 16.1, more substantially boned horse (though if she were any bigger, she'd need to go up a size). These are light weight and offer really nice stretch, so they should do a great job of eliminating the areas where other fly masks allow flies and biting insects to creep in around the face. The horse size has a slit so you can pull forelocks through. One thing I did notice is that the netting over the eyes doesn't necessarily stay popped outwards so that it won't come into contact with eye lashes or eyes, so I do recommend checking these *at least* daily to insure the mesh isn't rubbing eyes - no one has time to deal with eye ulcers from trying to protect from flies! The pony size is exactly like the horse size with the exception that it doesn't have a slit for a forelock, which is a huge inconvenience for my pony who was blessed with an abundance of glorious hair. The only way for me to deal with this was to pull his (thick) forelock back and towards his mane. It's not ideal, and may not be super comfortable for him (we'll see if he minds it or not), but I *really* wish the pony version had the forelock slit. If any of these fail prematurely (I fully expect a fly mask to make it through a complete season), I'll update my review. My barn is a great testing ground for products as my horses are moderately active (we run the gamut from young to geriatric), with some being harder on apparel while others are super gentle on their wearables.

CUTE AND GREAT BUT MIGHT NEED TO REPLACE EVERY SUMMER
I used this product for my gelding, Hank and my mare, Alice. They are both in separate small paddocks right next to each other. There is nothing in the paddocks for the masks to get ripped on. I loved these fly masks, but they got really stretched out and got tore up a bit after one summer. Now everytime I put the masks on them they manage to get them off in a few minutes. They were very comfortable with these masks thought and the masks did their job. But you will probably have to replace these masks every summer and I don't think they would hold up well in a big open pasture with things to get caught on. But if this mask was caught on something it would probably slip off leaving your horse uninjured. I really loved this mask, they looked great and weren't to expensive, but they get stretched out and torn easily.

Poor quality material to thin. Tears easily.
Great mask but price has gone up way to much. Could be better quality material (thicker) Only one my horse will keep on all day. Wish the material was thicker and the mesh doesnโt help my horse from the sun. We keep a mask on him due to sunburn mostly and it isnโt as protective as we need it to be. Iโve purchased three of these in the past four months. When our horse does take it off it tears from being so thin. It is a great mask for under a bridle and riding tho. And it does keep the bugs off. I keep purchasing it due to tears and my horse has to wear a mask due to the sun. I have only tried one other mask n the fit was terrible so until I find one that fits properly and is better quality and cheaper Iโll keep using this one. Canโt afford to be buying other brands that may or may not fit rt. now. And the price went up from last year a lot so definately looking for an alternative cheaper better quality mask. They also stretch out to easily from material being to thin.

Keeps the bugs off...
But it does get a bit loose at the neck, and he manages to always get an ear out. Has to be braided into his mane to keep it on.

It looked like it would be great but I ordered the wrong size
I ordered the wrong size because the description wasn't very informative. I guess you have to know what ove means.
