My Go-To for Reliable Portable Internet
This TP-Link 4G LTE MiFi has been a solid bit of kit for me, going from a stand-in for home broadband to a faithful companion on cabin getaways. It's handled everything from demanding marketing and IT work with four devices connected to just streaming music for a couple of phones, and it's kept pace admirably. Speed and battery life are key here, and whilst it's 4G, it delivers a perfectly decent connection for my day-to-day tasks. Battery-wise, I'm looking at around seven hours, which is pretty good for a full day out, and the fact I can use it while it's charging is a definite bonus. Setting it up with a Smarty SIM was a doddle, and it holds its own for signal strength right alongside my mobile phone. There haven't been any faffy issues, and it's proved to be good value. While I'm eyeing up a future 5G upgrade for that extra bit of oomph, this 4G MiFi has been a reliable workhorse and a fuss-free way for me to stay connected, whether I'm working from home or chilling off-grid. It's a sound choice if you need portable internet without any unnecessary complications.

An economic 4G/LTE Mobile WiFi Router, does exactly what it's supposed to!
Due to numerous errors by both BT and Openreach, I ended up with my broadband and phone line being cut-off for 7 weeks. I was refused a BT Mini Hub because my line wasn't actually "faulty" not was I moving home, so I had to buy something to allow me some Internet connectivity so I could work from home. I bought the TP-Link M7200 because it seemed the most cost-effective option, and I wasn't disappointed. I used a spare GiffGaff 4G SIM and loaded it with with a £20 goodybags (80GB data...!) and the M7200 worked just fine, sharing the Internet connection to my laptop, TV and a few Echo devices. The M7200 was easy to set up and required minimal configuration out of the box - although in my case I altered the default SSID (WiFi Network Name) and password to match that of my router, so I didn't have to change the settings on my WiFi devices only to have to change them back again once BT got things sorted. Uncongested speeds were good until the 4G network got busy when things slowed down, as would be expected, but the M7200 worked fine. I ran the unit on a 5V USB power supply but accidentally(!) found that the battery life is around 10 hours under moderate usage. I have no hesitation in recommending the TP-Link M7200 for anyone looking to purchase a no-frills 4G to WiFi router.

Great for my home use - mobile, PC, tablet, TV streaming, laptop
Good WiFi coverage between rooms in the house - even if I'm upstairs and the hub is downstairs I still get fairly quick WiFi speeds. Certainly good enough to cover multiple devices. I use my mobile phone, TV (Netflix etc), tablet, PC Al at once and the signal stays strong. I don't know if it'd be powerful enough for serious PC gaming but I give this 4 stars out of 5 simply because it has a tendency to turn itself off, meaning work interruptions which can be a little annoying. Overall good wee hub, would recommend.

So much better than I'd expected!
This is just what I needed! We are currently staying in rented accommodation for approx 6 months and the only internet offers ic ould find online were 12month minimum contract. So I thought I'd give this a shot instead. I've paired it with a Lebara unlimited internet usage SIM. Both my partner and I work from home and this runs the internet perfectly without any issues throughout the day. We do move the router about the house depending on where we are to improve service (e.g. for TV in the evening we bring it downstairs). The charge is impressive and it's easy to monitor via the app so you can plug it in and continue using it when the battery gets low. Initial set up for the SIM is a bit annoying but if you download the tpMiFi app first you can view text messages received by the SIM there (would have saved me 30mins had I know this). Cannot praise this piece of kit enough. Definitely worth the money and the fact you can take it out with you into the garden, away on holiday etc just makes it even more useful! Full marks from me.

Works great
This does work well using a sim from Smarty. The only downside side is you can’t tell when it’s on unless you press the button and wait a while for the lights to appear. Then you can’t tell if you’ve just switched it on or it was already on and the lights appear! Probably be outdated soon with eSIMs

Works straight out of the box
I had a Huawei mobile wi-fi that worked fine for about four years, but then started asking me to log in to my Huawei account (which I didn't have) every time I connected to a new website. Eventually it would not work at all until I logged in but wouldn't let me register for the account, so it went in the bin. After extensive reviews for another mobile wi-fi's I decided to buy the TP-Link. I was expecting a bit of a faff, but not only did it work as soon as I put the simcard in and followed the enclosed instructions I found that the battery was fully charged. Other reviews say that it doesn't work when it is being charged and I have found that this is correct; all I get is 'connected: no Internet'. I have to disconnect the charging lead, switch it off, switch it back on again, connect the tablet or TV to it and use it for about six hours, then disconnect the device and plug in the charger lead. I have it connected to two tablets, a laptop, two phones, the TV and the Freeview HDD recorder. I am very happy to recommend this 'mi-fi' and should I need to, will buy another TP-Link again in the future.

Failed after 1 month use
Initially the device was easy to set up and worked OK. However after 1 month's use it totally locked up and even the factory reset did not work. I contacted TP-Link support who asked me to run various tests and answer various questions. After that they concluded that the device was faulty and could not be repaired. They advised me to make a warranty claim against the supplier (Amazon) who should replace or refund me. However as the product was over 1 month since delivery there is no mechanism provided by Amazon to make such a claim. I am unhappy that the product broke and even more unhappy that Amazon have no mechanism of making a warranty claim for the product they sold me. I am equally unhappy that TP-Link have passed me back to Amazon. If anyone knows how I can make the claim against Amazon I would like to hear. Update: TP-Link have agreed to process my warranty claim given the lack of an Amazon process, so I am happier with TP-Link.
