Solid wired firewall/gateway appliance
Have extensive IT experience but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a dedicated firewall such as Sonicwall or similar, plus those can get troublesome after/during broadband outages, when replacing broadband routers, etc. This device worked flawlessly and even those with no tech experience will appreciate the simple setup. There’s also an optional security service you can purchase and add to the OS (yes, got that after install). I would like some additional LAN Ethernet ports (8 would be perfect) but I added a switch and Eero to complete the setup. Please note that this is WIRED ONLY. The device is smaller than my Ring alarm base station and has a pretty small footprint. Overall highly recommended based on feature-set, optional add-on security service, performance and price.

Its a keeper so far
Wanted a firewall between me and the internet that wasn't managed by my internet provider. Also wanted one that I didn't have to have a cloud-based account to access and manage. So far I am impressed as it seems to give you all the options you need to manage but not overwhelm with too many knobs that might require a person to be a network security specialist to understand.I have been watching the security logs for a few weeks as somebody supposedly in Amsterdam seems determined to brute force my security DVR on my network. Made me rethink my home network security to see some of the determined hacking attempts going on.Pros to me:Can manage from home network without creating cloud based account through the manufacture. It is there if you want.Simple to use via app or web based, very decent GUI interfaceGood amount of network metrics for knowing whats going on with the network.Keeps itself updated to latest security releases if you want to allow, manually selectable otherwise.Throughput seems to be respectable with no stability issues noticed with the unit through the first 2 months of use.Cons:Only a insignificant one for most people in that I wish all ethernet ports were 2.5G instead of one 2.5g and the other 4 being standard 1G.

So good it's almost unbelievable
Now that I've had this router for a few weeks, I wish I would've switched to Ubiquiti years ago. It's hard to believe how good this router is. Let alone for the price it sells at. It has every setting you could possibly need for home networking and really just about everything for corporate use as well. It's extremely fast and responsive when making any changes to settings. My old Netgear router had to reboot every time I changed anything. This one doesn't have to reboot, it just updates goes along with what it was doing. I love that I can access the router remotely by default. But, you can turn that off if you don't want it. It's also easy to manage the Ubiquiti Wi-Fi access points that I have connected. I like the little screen on the front that shows the current number of clients and traffic. As of the time I'm writing this, the router has been up for 29 days without any issues or slowing down of traffic. I had to reboot my old router at least once a week and it would still drop clients randomly. This has been rock solid since install.

Best router you can get to manage and secure your smart home or small business
Best bang for your bucks. Makes life easy! Makes network segmentation easy. Great features. Can be pared with a layer 2 vlan aware switch. I'm getting another one!

Best Router I’ve ever Had!
I can’t say how much I love Ubiquiti stuff. As a Network Engineer (UEWA, Ubiquiti certified), I’ve had the opportunity to work with major network brands such as Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei, HPE, etc. Ubiquiti has demonstrated that quality & price can meet in the middle, and even adding nice features that are found in high-end network equipment. The UCG Ultra is a great router/firewall for less than 150 USD, it‘s packed with tons of features (RADIUS server, IDS/IPS, ISP monitoring, Network controller, Multi-WAN failover, VPN, etc), it’s great built and the added screen comes handy when troubleshooting is required.Time will tell if quality is as great as the looks, but so far I’m very happy with this unit.

Easy Setup
Originally had a USG-3P Security Gateway, UC-CK Cloud Key and a UAP-AC-Pro. Everything was bought in 2016-2017. Easy to set up with no problems over the years except for the Cloud Key dying seven years later (everything else still worked). Bought another one, put in the memory card and it was back up and running.Recently bought a new cable modem and decided to upgrade the other equipment. It was easy to set up. Saved the 3P settings on a USB, connected a laptop and started the setup. Restored my settings (Systems->Settings->Backups), system rebooted and everything is working. I do have an odd problem with my access point that existed before the upgrade. It doesn't show that it's online, but it works. It'll get replaced shortly.
