I loved building this little steam engine. The parts are all well cut and fit together with very little sanding or adjustment. I especially love how detailed and intricate the design is, and that the pieces came in different colors to add contrast and make for a great display piece once assembled. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. This kit comes with everything you need right out of the box, but I did add a dab of glue very occasionally just to add stability. I wouldn’t say glue is necessary though. I like to take my time building models, and I finished this one in about 5 days, working on it for just a few hours each day. Already looking forward to the next kit from this brand!

This is a dream kit. The materials are of excellent quality. Pieces are precisely formed. Spare parts are given for tiny screws and nuts and other minute metal pieces. What really has me sold is the quality instruction manual...it has excellent drawings and tips. It looks like ROKR did it's utmost to create a quality product. I look forward to working on more of their kits

If you like puzzles this is a fantastic project. It is amazing that all of the gears work together to make a realistic model. It has been an enjoyable project on which to work.

This looks cool and lights up and moves. Rokr doesn't use the best wood and you have to be very careful when taking pieces off boards. Sand and wax connections and it will come out well. I like design, they just don't seem to use the best wood. Woodtrick and Ugears are better wooden models. I have assembled almost every wooden model you can purchase on Amazon. Rokr does make some nice models. Stay away from the cheap ones made by Rokr.

Purchased tgis as a Christmas gift for my 70 year-old father-in-law. He's semi-retired and I was hoping it would be a fun activity for him to do with my son while he was in town for the holidays. Well, it turned out that he loved it so much he hunkered down and worked on it even though my son wasn't interested! The pieces are intricate so even after a few hours he was still very early in the build progress. He eagerly packed it up into his suitcase and took it home. So huge success! It's a beautiful kit and pulled him right in even though he'd never built one before.

This particular model has an engine! Very detailed and a challenge to put together. Not finished yet but nice so far. Husband spends hours putting these models together. He really enjoys them.

Fun to put together. Take your time, some parts needed glueing. The main axle could have been designed to fit better and be more solid but everything works. Looks very nice, the cotton for the steam is great effects.

Really good it keeps the brain healthy good project

Not for the faint of heart - take your time and be really careful as some of the pieces are really delicate. But in the end it turned out great - very pleased with the results!

Excellent build, except for the hinged cab. The small screws really need to be longer. I used longer ones I had and they worked better. Other than that a great experience.

Another amazing model. ROKR and Rolife definitely make the highest quality models. I’ve mentioned before that when I do these, I tint the wooden cut edges to match the piece. This is only where they are going to be seen and it certainly makes piece and the model look a lot better. I use furniture repair markers available on Amazon. I have built at least 15 Rolife/Rokr models in the past year and this was definitely the MOST COMPLEX! Take if slow. I would really like to know how they design these and produce them. It boggles my mind. My only issue is that when it’s all complete what do you do with it? It’s not a toy that you’re gonna let a child play with and it’s nice to show someone that it is motorized, but I think I prefer the static models that you can just display. So much work went into the gearing of this model and basically it’s going to sit.
