Tricky to get on shoes just right, but still working really well

I love it! Exactly what i am looking to replace for my Shimano bike shoes.

This works as a replacement quicklace. However, installing the laces on the shoe is a real pain and requires patience and a few extra tools. The laces themselves are sturdy. They resist being cut with scissors. I would suggest a small disposable scalpel or razor edge. Then, use a flame to burn the end and make a hard but small tip. Passing them through the slider requires patience. The toothpick was useless. I used a very small screwdriver and a small metal instrument used for removing watch band pins. As another poster stated, it really requires three hands or a device to hold the slider. Use the barrel connector and place a knot on the laces. That was easy. The end result is good, but what a hassle.

Installing these laces is a colossal pain. The product is okay, but it took the better part of 30 minutes to lace up one shoe. The loops on the shoes are so small that we needed a yarn needle to work the new laces through. The lock was also difficult to thread. Burning the ends of the laces to harden them is absolutely necessary, but has to be done carefully to avoid creating a large “nub” that won’t go through the holes. If you’re shoes are in good shape and you really like them, this is probably worthwhile, but know what you’re getting into.

Found it impossible to thread the laces through the shoe lock: instructions make it look easy but we both tried for ten minutes and unable to achieve this. I found the instructions confusing. Would like to return for full refund.

Just finished the Teton Crest Trial using them held up great.

The lace is a replacement for a pair of shoes for my daughter. If I would have known when I bought the shoes how bad replacing the laces are I would not have bought the shoes. This took 2 hours to replace. Whoever thought up these laces should never engineer anything again. The laces broke after 3 months of wear so the whole idea and shoe is not good.

Fitting the laces was easy, there was plenty of adjustment to make everything fit. My big concern was the quality of the lace and buckle/slider but no issues and appear to be robust so very happy.
