OPTP The Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll – Standard Density Low Back Support

I have yet to use this on the airplane or while driving but I've been using it at my office job for a full week and I cannot recommend it enough. I think everyone nowadays has bad posture but if you struggle to maintain good posture for even a minute at a time, buy this (I had spinal fusion surgery, so take my word for it). If you sit right with your butt snug to the back of your chair but the lumbar support or the shape of the chair doesn't fit perfectly with your back, this helps a lot. It kinda forces me to sit more upright and if I do give up on having good posture for a bit, the stiffness of the roll is strong enough to support my lower back so I don't have bad back support. Takes a lot of pressure off my lower back.

I've been fighting a persistently inflamed lower back and this is helping. Running, situps, leg lifts, stretches, and others seem to help a little but the inflammed back. But the moment I sit down to work, then try to stand up again 30 minutes later, my lower back is stiff and hurts a bit. This is the first thing I've found where I stand up from sitting, and the inflammation...just isn't there. For standard vs firm stiffness, I went with standard. That's great for general sitting. It compresses down to 1 inches or 1.5 inches. But if I had a pulled back muscle and I was sitting on a bench, I'd rather have firm. I may end up buying a firm for those days.

Works great to apply just enough lumbar support to take pressure off the sciatic nerve! Soft yet firm enough to do the job. It came yesterday and I have been wearing it around my waist like a reverse fanny pack around the house so whenever I go to sit down, bam, it’s right there in the right spot for support after adjusting for the chair. When I got in the car, it was right there on me so whether I was in the drivers seat or passenger seat, it worked. I would have given this a 5 start except for a slight design flaw. The strap has a buckle clasp to let in and out instead of a click connector which would make getting it on and off much easier. You could adjust it to the size you need then click to connect! If this wears out, I’ll buy again!!!

Perfect. This is much more comfortable than a rolled up towel and much easier to use. I looked at all of the reviews for many different lumbar rolls. I picked this one because of the reviews. I thought I might want the firmer roll, but this one is just right. I think the firmer one might be too much. This is comfortable but not too soft and squishy.

I have only had this cushion for one day, but the relief that it has given me for my sciatica is immediate and noticeable. I like the firmness and the size, I think that it was definitely worth the money for what it is and I was able to get it quickly when I really needed it which I appreciate. My only complaint is that I actually wish the strap was fully removable, because I find that it gets in the way sometimes, and if I could unclip it when I don't need it that would be great. Update: I actually took one more star off, because over time this pillow became more of a hassle than anything. At some point it stopped helping with my back pain and actually started to make it worse again. The strap is also virtually useless, I tried strapping it to my desk chair as suggested, and it was constantly shifting, and moving up and down, and the strap is too elastic and not nearly substantial enough to keep the pillow where you need it to be. I think you would have much better luck buying something with a more organic design that actually fits the shape of your back. It was not worth saving the money to buy this product.

Almost instantly my lower back pain reduced 95%. I use it every night while sitting and watching TV. My husband also purchase this as he has had a bad fall and fractured 2 vertabrae. He even takes it to restaurants. It helps with his pain in his mid back. L1. I encourage a purchase for lumbar pain. It is not soft, but not rockhard. You can strap it around a chair. I highly recommend this. My Physical Therapist recommended this product to us.

I start pt yesterday and this lumbar roll was recommended by my pt therapist. It has made a difference for me. Planning on getting one for my car. It keeps my body in alignment and support. It is not soft , not supposed to be . Firmness is the point of using it.

Good Product and easy to manage

At first use, I thought this roll was too hard and was contemplating returning it. I use it when sitting in my recliner. I decided to give it a second chance and my back felt ok. As time has gone on, I’m loving this roll and if it was any softer, it wouldn’t have done the job of supporting my lower back. I do really love the strap which allows me to just wear the roll around my waist so I don’t have to constantly readjust it every time I get up and sit down.

Good piece of foam with a strap, so as to stop it moving out of position, or to relocate position on spine. Happy with it. Drive road trains for 12hrs a day and it's comfortable for those long periods.
