Fantastic Machine - So Easy To Use - Great Value
After purchasing a very basic and cheap (£30) machine from Amazon, which turned out to be little more than a toy, and then one that cost roughly £60 with 12 stitch types (you know the one!!) which also turned out to be useless and infuriating to use I decided to purchase this Brother This is the cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy but it’s simply fantastic. It just works and works very well indeed No more constantly breaking needles and thread like the other two machines. You just thread it up, which is simplicity itself, and off you go I think for just £85, for a well respected brand like Brother, it is an absolute bargain. Also bare in mind that you get a 3 year warranty with this machine I cannot recommend it enough. All the reviews are spot on with this machine It’s also very quiet and can sew very slowly if required but can go like the clappers when you need to! As most of the other reviews have already said it’s a great machine and you just can’t go wrong I really wouldn’t waste your money on any of the cheap ‘mini’ sewing machines as they will infuriate you with how bad they really are, and sewing is supposed to be fun Totally and utterly 100% recommend this Brother sewing machine. I’m massively impressed and enjoying every minute using it UPDATE: I’ve now been using this lovely machine quite extensively repairing and altering loads of things and it’s been working fantastic. Not once have I had broken thread or needles. The only tiny thing I did notice is that you need to allow enough upper thread so when you start sewing it doesn’t pull through the needle, apart from that it’s a little wonder!! UPDATE 2: I have been using this Brother sewing machine for lots of different sewing projects and it’s been absolutely fantastic. Not once have I had a broken thread or needle. It just works and works very well indeed. It’s a complete bargain for such a great machine from a great company UPDATE 3: Please do not waste your money on the, so called, mini sewing machines from China. I tried a couple of them and they are just so frustrating to use and will probably put you off sewing for life. This is THE cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy. The fact that it also has a 3 year warranty makes it a no brainier in my view UPDATE 4: I thought I had a faulty machine… oops! I read the instruction manual and thought that you could rotate the stitch selection knob all the way, 360 degrees, but discovered that actually you rotate it from stitch 1 through to stitch 14 and then back again (right to left & left to right)… hope that makes sense; the knob doesn’t rotate all the way round (360 degrees) UPDATE 5: This Brother sewing machine is still impressing me! It’s so easy to use and just sews so well. A totally brilliant machine. Please don’t bother with the ‘cheap’ toy machines from China as you will never be happy with them. Save up a little bit and buy this Brother sewing machine, it’s a real bargain for such a great machine

Very good sewing machine
I’m very impressed with this Brother sewing machine. My very first sewing machine was a Brother. That was around 65 years ago and that too was a good machine. The LS14s is a very good sewing machine, easy to thread, offers useful features including buttonhole facility and is quiet in operation. It is light but solid and in my opinion very good value for money. I’m very happy with it.

Great Quality Sewing Machine-Good Value
Great little sewing machine. Works perfect and very easy to thread. Really like the drop-in bobbin feature. Love the size and portability of it too. Quiet operation and very smooth. Great value for the money. Had a previous "Brother" sewing machine and it lasted over 30 years. Hope this one does the same. And this machine is so pretty! :) Very happy with this purchase.

Dead Simple - Even for Blokes!
If you catch your Shirts or Tops on the door handles and they get torn; or If somebody decides to open your new clothes deliveries that come in plastic bags (Debenhams) with a pair of scissors and cuts through your prized Mantaray shirts... then this is for you. This machine is selling elsewhere for over £130, so a great price on Amazon at present. I now have half a dozen shirts that have been caught and ripped accidentally, and they are not cheap shirts either. So fed up with forking out £40-50 a go, I decided enough was enough and decided I was going to fix them during lockdown. I Wanted something easy to use without having to have a degree in Home Economics ;) that was small and light and not some 99p cheap flimsy Chinese rubbish that wouldn't last 2 minutes. I knew Brother made industrial Sewing machines and Domestic ones, so when I saw this model that was made from metal and simple to use - decided to take the plunge. It comes with aa DVD that is simple to use and shows you all the basics on how to thread it up with close ups and all the needles and bobbin thingies that you need to get going. So after practising a bit to decide on the best stitch I took the plunge and the photos are the result of my first effort. This is a new shirt, that had been cut whilst opening the package. I had already removed the label from another shirt as it irritated my neck, so that was perfect for using as a patch and of course it was also a Mantaray label so matched the shirt perfectly. I simply used a bit of that iron-on webbing stuff to fix and hold the patch where I wanted it, then picked a straight stitch and simples! Well it was a cinch to do and I am really chuffed with the results, and plan on fixing my other shirts once I find some more labels to use or get some patches. The machine has a 3 year warranty from Brother, so well impressed with that. Spares are cheap and accessories too if you need to do any fancy stuff. I am now going on a mission through the wardrobe top select other candidates for my new found talent, lol. So yes, I highly recommend this Brother LS14s - a brilliant piece of kit and at a cracking price.

amazing for its price
I absolutely love this sewing machine. As someone who is just starting out, I was looking for a cheap, simple sewing machine just to do the basic things and this checks all the boxes. There DVD instruction manual is great, I loved the music, but be aware of this as not everyone has a DVD player in 2025. If you do though, its great! Very informative and is much better than the paper instruction manual you get given. The pedal of the machine is a little hard to control when you first start off, but you get used to it, so that was nothing too bad. Its easy to move around since there is a indented handle built into the top of the sewing machine. It looks great as well its very sturdy, and a wide range of stitches are given; zigzag, straight, filling stitch and the button one which i havent used yet. I also like the size, its not too big but not one of those tiny ones either which is great. So if you are starting off, or even have sewn before i would recomment this machine, my mother says its even better than her singer machine.

Buen precio
A Priori la máquina esta muy bien y más por el precio a la que la conseguimos, lo malo es que el enchufe no es español, pero vamos que con un adaptador no hay problema. Más adelante volveré y comentaré ya con un poco más de uso
