Saved my floors!
I am so happy I tried these!! We just moved to a house with solid wood floors, and we have a 2 year old 65 pound golden doodle. We had no idea how we would keep our dog inside AND protect our floors! I bought the x-large clear nail caps. I put them on 6 weeks ago. It was super simple, but our dog is very laid back. He slept while I put them on! Probably not typical. When I finished, he didn’t even know they were on his nails. He didn’t notice them at all. And they have saved our floors!! After about a week, I noticed our dog chewing on one, but I think he had just noticed them. He hasn’t chewed on them since then. Two weeks after I first put them on our dog, I rechecked his nails, and about half had fallen off. Ugh. But... When I put on the new ones, I realized that I didn’t put enough glue on the first time. So, I put more glue ... filled each cap 1/3 to 1/2 full of glue. It’s been 4 more weeks, and none of those has come off yet. Today, I noticed that one of the old caps has fallen off (lasted 6 weeks with not much glue). I see now that I’ll just check his nails every week or so and replace any that have come off. So easy and very effective! I’m so thankful!! A note... I was a bit worried about the glue at first. When I used more glue the 2nd time, I got a little on my fingers. It rubbed off within 24 hours. I have also gotten a little on my dog’s foot pad, but it didn’t bother him at all. I don’t think the glue/caps are made to pull off. I think it’s best if you let them fall off to replace them. Otherwise, the glue seems totally harmless.

Most fell off within a weekend...
I was very hopeful that nail covers would help my dogs to co-exist with the wood floors in my new house, but these were awful! After one day, over half had fallen off. I reapplied with more glue. Most fell off again within a week. The few that stayed on were a result of excessive glue and hurt my dogs' paws. After a month, I removed the last two caps with a Dremel because the dogs were chewing their toes raw where the cap met their skin. More importantly, I realize not that this concept would not work well for my dogs even if the caps stayed in place. If their toenails do not get worn or trimmed regularly, they grow too long and the quick get long as well. When you remove the caps, you must gradually trim the nails back down to a healthy length. Overly long nails on active dogs can result in broken toes... I admit that I should have thought of that before ordering this product, but I wanted to point it out to help other people and their dogs. If you are bringing your dog to visit someone who is concerned about their floor or someone with sensitive skin, these might be a great product, but they were not a good solution use for my situation.

Kitten approved!
My boyfriend & myself have a new 3 month old kitten & also a slightly new $2,000 couch which we’d like to keep nice, so we tried these as a solution to the common kitten scratching. Our kitten can be very playful but usually she’s a very relaxed cat, so applying these was very simple because I️ chose to do so while she sleeps. I️ read a review about wetting the fur around the paws before applying the nails if your kitten has long fur, our kitten is very fluffy, that was an awesome suggestion & I️ recommend that to others as well. Applying the glue inside the tiny little nails was very simple & applying the nails was also very simple! I’m only giving four stars because of the glue. The first two days we had the nails on, one or two fell off which was partly the glue, partly my applying nail skills but then as the week went on, I️ realized that the little cone funnels that they give you to put on the glue bottles, so that they may fit inside the tiny nails to full them with glue, only last for one use! I️ try to get the air bubbles out of them & get the remaining glue out of them but it’s just impossible. & once the glue dries in that little funnel, it’s too clogged to be used again. I’m going to try to find a stronger glue, as well. Idk if you can buy just the funnels but if you can, buy extras! Anyway, long story short my kitten has adjusted nicely to these so far! She doesn’t really seem to even notice that they’re on her nails! We chose a bright pink color for our trial period with these because I’d read reviews of people saying that the nails didn’t fall off when the natural nail grew & they didn’t notice & the cats nail got embedded into their little paws! I️ definitely don’t want this to happen, so I️ highly recommend getting a bright color nail to start out with, at least because that way it’s much easier to monitor them on your kitty! & also, when the nails fall off of her nails, is easier to spot them laying on the floor! Just a suggestion! We love them so far & they’ve definitely saved our couch & other furniture! Recommended!!

Buy these now - don't wait for your furniture to be destroyed
I saw these in a cat group I'm part of and loved how cute they look. I wanted to get them for my own cat, but didn't at first because we have never had an issue with her scratching anything, and didn't think it would be fair since they would be purely cosmetic. Then a week ago I found holes ripped in my sofa. I was devastated. My husband tolerates animals for my sake, so anything naughty they do I fear will get them kicked out of the house. Not to mention I've done a pretty amazing job keeping the sofa looking like new as an adhd mother with 3 adhd boys aged 11 years down to 18 months. What upsets me most is that if I'd purchased these to begin with, even if only for looks of cute claws, the couch would still be like new. I did not hesitate again. My cat's history is unknown, she's small and skittish and I think her previous owner's boyfriend found her as a kitten abandoned in a box. Emphasis on skittish. I wasn't sure how well she'd take to these. I feared she'd fight too much to let me put them on then immediately try getting them off. First of all, she wasn't any more squirmy than with her regular nail trims. The caps, in fact, were much easier to put on than it is to clip her nails. Secondly, as soon as they were all on and I released her, she moved on like everything was normal. She didn't shake her paws or lick or bite them or anything. It's been a couple of days and they are all still on. They don't get in the way of her retracting her claws in any way. These really are just on the tip of the nail, the part that remains exposed at all times. I can't speak as to their value, since I haven't had them long enough to see how long they last, however I imagine they would've been well worth their price just to have saved my sofa. I highly recommend Soft Claws. They're quick and easy to apply, don't cause my cat any discomfort, they're cute, and they save my furniture. I even recommend them for purely cosmetic reasons - I sure wish I'd purchased them for that reason in the first place.

Would not recommend for long term use without breaks between uses.
We purchased these for our 4 year old border collie, in order to protect our hardwood floors. At first, they seemed like an excellent solution - each set lasted appx 2-3 weeks, depending on how hard he ran on them. For a well behaved dog, putting them on wasn't difficult, and I was careful to check the nails afterwards to make sure that no hair had stuck to the caps & that his pads weren't sticking at all - as careful as I was with the glue, sometimes a little would end up coming out. Occasionally a cap would come off & need replacement & eventually he would start to wear the ends of the caps off, signaling it was time to trim his nails & replace the caps. One thing I did observe when changing the caps out, was that the inside of his nails seemed very soft & spongy - I assumed this was normal, considering he wasn't hardening his nails by running around on them anymore. A couple of months in, I started noticing that he was limping. After eliminating the possibility of injury, I started to question the nail caps. We were able to narrow it down to one of his toes - It took a huge amount of patience & care to remove the nail cap, as it was clearly very painful for him. Once removed, I noticed that the core of his nail was hollow and bloody. I left that cap out so that the nail could air out & heal, but within a few days he was limping on another foot. Same issue - removal was clearly very painful for him, and once again it appeared that the core of his nail was almost rotting out. At that point I removed all the caps from his nails & left them off for good. His limping cleared up very quickly & he has very healthy nails again. We will be looking to other solutions to protect our hardwood, as I would never put him through that again. In conclusion, I would use these again if I planned on taking at least a 2 week break between applications in order to let the nails breathe and harden naturally. I would never go straight from one set to the next again.

Helpful and simple
I really love these little caps! I got them to put on my 10yo standard poodles back feet to give him some extra grip on the hardwood floor after I saw him tweak his hip from slipping while playing. It definitely helped him and they were easy to put on and clip off. His stayed on for weeks, he only lost a few and the remaining ones came off easily on the next nail trim. We have a pet door and he’s in/out all day. They got a bit muddy but no more than his normal nails did, there wasn’t ever any indication moisture or mud caused him discomfort when wearing these caps. I used them on my hounds back feet recently as well and I have been thrilled with the results for her- she has terrible skin allergies and scratches herself raw. She’s very bad for getting her nails trimmed, so I’m unable to file them and they stay sharp after clipping, leading her to carve herself up like a Christmas ham the first opportunity she gets. Even though she is horrible for getting her nails done, she was absolutely marvelous for letting me put on these caps and it made an immediate difference in how much damage she caused when scratching. It’s definitely going to become part of our nail care routine to keep her back feet from being so sharp and to improve her confidence and trust when having her feet handled. Next time we are going for a cute color to make the whole experience more fun for me, so it’s more fun for her! These are nice to have around when you need them! When applying, just take into consideration your pets nail length and comfort. Check the nails every day for a few days after application to make sure everything is good and comfortable. Pictured: my female Ibizan hounds back foot with claw caps and front feet without Update: since my initial review I have been nothing but pleased with these caps! They stay on for weeks at a time when an appropriate amount of glue is used at the nail tip. I ordered sparkly gold for fun so I could doll up my hound- these caps have sincerely helped reduce her skin irritation when itching, and keeps those sharp claws I can’t file at bay so she doesn’t scratch me or the other dogs or blankets, etc. I love these!! I ordered a size too small in the gold, but they are staying on nicely and still cover those sharp tips to keep my baby safe.

Terrible for 'added grip', probably fine for 'scratch protection of stuff'
Maybe good for damage protection (to skin, furniture or floors), but terrible for 'grip'. Bought for our 15 y/o 55 pound lab mix who was starting to slip on our hard (vinyl plank) flooring due to loss of rear leg muscle. Provided no additional grip, might even have been worse. Immediately slipped and wiped out. Material felt like a 5 year old pencil eraser, not a brand new one for simple comparison. Hard, not pliable or grippy. If the goal is to not scratch stuff, would be fine. If the goal is to not slip on slippery floors, get yourself some velcro & rubber grip dog socks like we did which work like a champ.

Perfect for indoor cats, or if you don't enjoy getting scratched up!
We got a kitten several weeks ago and she was scratching us all up when she would play. Declawing was not an option, so we decided to try these little caps. Not only do they stay on and work perfectly, they are as cute as can be in pink! We rolled her up in a towel and only did her front paws. We cut them down a little because they were a little too big. It was simple to get them on her and we were luckily enough that she did not try to bite them off. She has had them on for two weeks now and only one has fell off. Simple fix, we just put another one on. It took as little as 10 minutes to initially get all of the caps on her paws and putting on the replacement cap took about 3 seconds. Great product and I love all of the colors. I will definitely be purchasing more of these in the future. No one is getting scratched anymore and she does not even notice them. Thanks!

Great
Great but a bit tricky to put on.

Fantastic product, wish I had heard of these sooner!
They lasted a month the first time around. It seems a little less now that it's cold out, I think they get brittle. Indispensable if you want to save your hardwood floors! Our dog doesn't even know they are on unlike when he wears dog boots!

Next best thing since sliced bread!
I have to say, doh on this one. My cat is 17 yrs old. We've had a lot of ruined sofas and carpeting. A LOT. Why did I wait so long to try these nail caps out??? Had to take kitty to vet this week and the pretty pink caps got their seal of approval, so much so they took a pic of her toes and posted it on the practice web site / facebook. Once they were placed on kitty's nails, she hardly noticed them. And they go great with her pink collar and grey fur :)
