Compared to the genuine bagpipe tutor books, this seemed lacking. I also ordered three other learn bagpipe books on amazon that were extraordinarily bad. Probably put together by people with no knowledge of practical piping, but have read a book on how to get rich quick by self publishing on Amazon. So I sent the lot back. This particular book was marginally better than the others, but I had lost patience by the time I got to it. Brilliantly useful and learnt lots!
Great mix of practical "how to" alongside history and cultural information about the bagpipes and an explanation of how it's made & why. Well-written & brilliantly useful and practical - would highly recommend.

Great beginning book

Disappointing
This book appears to be a compilation of information from a lot of references and can be confusing and contradicts itself in several sections. I purchased to start to learn how to play not to read about the history of and all the different kinds of bagpipes in the world. A bagpiper wouldn’t need that many references. I got more out of a 10 minute YouTube video.
