Better Than Lego. Here's Why
This Steampunk Railway Station is an intricate, gorgeous display piece, rife with tiny details--the barista station is really clever--and a ton of gears and quasi-Victorian industrial greeblies to give it a steampunk vibe. This is a big model, with two flanking sections that slide outward to make it even wider. Beyond sheer size, it's the color choices and extensive use of brilliant metallic gold pieces that make it visually pop on the shelf. The suspended train and car, in black, hunter green, and gold livery, creates contrast while still complementing the look of the station. You get two beautifully printed manuals that are as clear as manuals for building-brick sets ever are: i.e., once in a while, you'll have to study an image to be sure what's intended, but 98% of the time, it's crystal clear for anyone who's ever built a set before. The build experience is lengthy: 2,723 pieces, with interesting parts usage and techniques. A pleasant aspect: just when building the station finally starts to get a little old, you switch over to a very different build, the train and passenger car. So, things stay fresh and fun throughout. Brick quality? As good as top brands like Cobi and Lego. In fact, better than Lego: the problems Lego has been having with bricks of the "same" color appearing in slightly different shades aren't present in this Pantasy set. Bricks of the same color all match properly. Clutch power is very similar to Lego. Scratches on parts were minimal and insignificant. Literally the only flaw I could find with this set, other than subjective issues like design choices or the lack of minifigures, is that the manual calls for one tiny part that appears pearl silver on the page, but the included part was charcoal grey. That's unfortunate but not a big deal since it's a totally unobtrusive decorative part no one would notice and not structurally important. A question mark is how well the clear canopy over the platform will stay up under its own weight over time, given that it doesn't have much support. It's too early to answer that, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. So, how is this set better than Lego? Lego designs tend to be conservative and predictable: the clever, innovative work often comes from other companies and MOC designers. That's true here: this is a really striking, unusual set, with a lot of thought behind it, and it would be hard to imagine Lego making something like this. Plus, unlike many Lego sets, there are no cheap, annoying stickers, just excellent printed parts. The bricks (newest generation Gobricks) are very high quality. The steampunk train itself, despite being fantasy, blows recent Lego trains, like the Orient Express, off the rails, and emphasizes just how badly Lego botched and oversimplified that locomotive. And of course this set is way, way cheaper than what Lego would typically charge for something of this size and caliber. This is total steal for the price. I would give this set 4.5 stars if I could because of the color issue with the one part, but I'm comfortable rounding up here, given what a superb set this is for a price that puts Lego to utter shame. Happily recommended.

Definitely a great buy!
This kit looks great after being built. Went together perfectly, sturdy and stays together. The blocks fit nice. Great product! The attention to detal is just awesome!

Great Display Piece for Nautilus Lovers
All in all a good substitute for the name brand building blocks. It was fun, challenging assembly and looks great. Tons of details including some moving parts. Gets a lot of compliments as a display piece. Only downside is some of the parts do not hold together as well as the name brand option. You just have to be careful especially when assembling the larger sub-components. Definitely a better value for your money. Worth the extra care it takes.

Figurines aren’t my style but the build absolutely rocks!
Aside from the figures this was a great set to put together. I particularly like how the gearing all tied together to drive ALL the moving parts: side propellers, tail propeller, and back flaps(?). Most sets just have one geared item per turn knob if they have more than one geared part so to see something that demonstrated a gear distribution and how to use u-joints to offset drive shaft alignment was refreshingly inspiring. Clutch on some of the smaller parts could be better but it wasn’t bad and the overall clutch quality was great. The parts were distributed in numbered bags that corresponded to sections in the construction guide so the set could be worked on in manageable stages without needing a ton of workspace to organize and inspect parts before assembling a stage. Assembled, it looks like a top line kit with great aesthetic - minus the infantile figurines that I put with the toddler toy donations box. Even the figurines had great aesthetic to their clothing print - I just couldn’t get past how antitheticaly the shape and functionality of the figurines contrasted with the rest of what this set had going on. If you do get this set - because it has all the gearing integrated together - be sure to carefully adjust the gear couplings to not tightly grip the bricks holding the drive shafts in alignment. I had the propellers able to easily spin on their momentum with a starter twist before coupling with the rest of the gearing. Looking forward to adding LEDs and a powered motor to this kit.

Painful ending…
I just completed this model. 16 bags of different pieces and each one was very well made and pretty. The colors were good and there were no stickers. It’s a quality piece that way. What was extremely frustrating was to have gone through over 20 hours of assembly of each component and then during final assembly of the model, it just completely falls apart. I would recommend not to purchase this. It’s $100 model and during its final assembly you just can’t keep it together. It sags due to its weight and anytime you try to even slightly press it together or other parts that fall off during final assembly or to tighten it, a whole bunch of all your hard work falls off. It’s extremely intricate so an adult must do it and there are over 16 bags of product pieces to assemble. I would say just buy a standard model kit with glue and paint and do it the old-fashioned way. There are a lot of great nods and things to the book and it’s very pretty but just in the end, it’s not worth it.

Fantastic build.
Fantastic set. This is my second build from Pantasy and this may be my favorite company so far. I do 3-4 decent sized builds a month and have been trying alternatives to LEGO to keep the costs down. I’ve done this one and the Mine so far. They are so much fun and have an incredible amount of detail. They are also very large. The Big Ben has one of the more complex inner workings that I have done. Definitely for an experienced builder so take your time with the build. The instructions were great and any mistakes was me going to fast. The price was a steal for what you get. I highly recommend this company and this particular build. Enjoy! Ordering another Pantasy set soon as the wife says ok 😎

Airship Steampunk
I love building and have enjoyed working on different sets. When I saw the Steampunk Airship, I was excited to give it a shot it looked like a great addition to my collection. Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a disappointment. Some of the bricks click into place well and feel secure at first, but when I started building the second part the air balloon it became extremely frustrating. I had to rebuild it so many times. The base simply doesn’t offer enough support, and the three panels on each side are difficult to secure. There isn’t much to hold onto, and even when you manage to click one panel in, the others tend to fall off. It becomes a cycle of attaching and reattaching, just hoping everything will eventually stay in place. The rear of the model is quite heavy, while the front is much lighter, which throws off the balance. When you start working on the front section, the panels collapse easily, and if you’re not holding it constantly, the entire structure can fall apart into a million pieces. It also has a strange way with bags. When you start in bag, 7/8/9 feel something is wrong because there are so many pieces out and you feel must missing some step. Only after the you start to build the panel you realize that it belongs to the panels..(very confusing). I really wanted to enjoy this set, but the design just doesn’t hold up. It needs serious improvements in stability and support. Disappointing experience overall.

Absolutely spectacular!!
This is without question one of my absolute favorite builds. I build a lot of these sorts of things and this one just surpassed all expectations of being absolutely amazing!! And the price.. such an amazing price for such a gorgeous build and worth every single cent! It's a bargain for a masterpiece! The photos I've uploaded Don't show the finished piece because I still have a couple more steps to go but didn't want to delay in submitting this review. Also, the internal structure of the clock is phenomenal!! All the gears that connect together and how they synchronize with each of the connected clocks is just so amazing. See my video for a demonstration plus some verbal tips and tricks/comments. The packaging is gorgeous, the instruction book/manual is excellent, great quality pieces... No pieces missing at all!... This is an item that is incredibly fun for both kids and adults. It helps with my anxiety it's super relaxing and I love it. Just overall it is an 11 on a scale from 1 to 10!!! Also, the measurements for the base are 10 in by 10 in by 10 in.. and from bottom to top for the clock tower it measures 23 in tall!
