The SmallRig full cage is a very handy accessory with lots of threaded holes for attaching whatever you might want to add. It also has a QD socket on the bottom which I found quite by accident. It works very well with a bungy-style single attach point sling. It's Arca-Swiss capable which is very handy. To be honest I bought the 'cage' for extra protection in the event of a fall, not necessarily for making a small video rig. The design is well thoughtout. They even made a swinging gate that allows better access to the battery compartment. And, they include a 'cable strain relief' attachment for HDMI, MIC, and Audio cables. Overall fit and finish is excellent. My only real 'con' is its made in PRC.

This half cage is an excellent addition to my Sony A6700 setup! It provides solid protection while keeping the camera lightweight and easy to handle. The build quality is fantastic, with precise machining and a comfortable grip. I love the multiple mounting points, which make it easy to attach accessories without adding bulk. I bought this to go along with my first camera being the Sony a6700. Without any prior knowledge it was very easy to assemble onto the camera body. I keep this on my camera at all times for added protection and extra grip space for my pinky finger. I love that this product doesn’t feel cheap like other camera accessories I have bought. I also love the many ways to attach other equipment to the cage which makes it super functional. Great purchase.

This cage is great and is essential for anyone serious with video production. It allows for rigging up your camera with any attachments that you may need (lighting, handgrips, monitor mount, etc). Highly recommend! We have two of these - one for the A6700 and one for the FX30!Small Rig is a brand you can trust!

There are a few things I wish were different, but overall it's a great cage, and the one that has stayed on my body. I would prefer if the cold shoe wasn't angled, and there really SHOULD be an integrated NATO rail on top. However, this is the only cage that just LOOKS soo good. Like it was made to come with the camera. The way it fits on the bottom and extends the grip, without looking awkward is amazing. There is no gap or weird fit, unlike other cages which don't fit the camera form as well, or have a weird gap/cutout near the battery door. I originally had the bottom playe/cage only, before I upgraded to the full cage, and I feel like if you don't NEED or WANT a full cage (even though you should no matter if you attach things, for protection), you should absolutely get the bottom plate at least. Honestly, the bottom plate should come with the camera, it's THAT necessary, and looks like it came from factory like that with it on, and makes handling SO much better. This full cage is just an improvement on that, and the extension of the grip as well as the side rail just makes the A6700, which seems undersized and not very ergonomic, feel SOO much better and more secure in the hand.

It’s amazingly well built and thought out. Lots of mounting options. Only complaint is I wish there was a camera quick release option because I’d like to take my camera out easier for photography. The tools on the bottom are a really cool feature but the screwdriver tool will get lost easily and when it does it’s not easy to replace. Needs a stronger magnet or some kind of lock in it.

Well made. Camera feels more solid in may hand. Protects the camera well.
