So cute
This works similar to the expensive popular toy. It is a key chain which is cute and convenient and my kids loved playing with this. The screen is black and white but they didn't seem to mind. Only drawback is the batteries run out quicky which is common for this kind of toy.

It works but not ideal.
The software works and kind of resembles the older ones, but it has a big reset button on the front that is too easy to hit by mistake and resets the whole thing. Would not work for small kids.

Nice Bit of Nostalgia, Limited Use
I definitely have pros and cons with this set. First, the price is good for 4 little virtual pets. It's not too different from one name brand so if you'd like to give them as party favors or have 4 kids who all want one, this could be a good alternative. The pet choices are vast and varied, including people, dinosaurs, and some things I really have no idea what they're supposed to be. The instructions aren't the most helpful so you're kind of on your own with figuring it out too. The reset button is *very* easy to push accidentally and it sends you back to the pet selector and erases your progress right away so it can be hard to make any meaningful progress. You can feed your pet (bread or cake), play two games with them (very simple games), send them to school to learn, clean up after them, and give them shots when they need them. You can also get "mail" which so far seems to consist of "gold" or poop you have to clean up. It does seem to go to sleep mode pretty easily where it stops making noise/needing you to pay attention to it which I appreciate (as someone who had a tamagotchi when they were small and had it die frequently when I was at school). Pets do get older (up to 20 years old apparently) but don't change in appearance at all (which is a con for me, the evolution of tamagotchis was one of the most fun parts). The actual construction of the device is pretty lightweight and cheap feeling but it doesn't look bad except the screen. On mine there are bubbles at the edge of the screen which don't look great. All in all, these are entertaining for a short time and would be fun party favors or stocking/easter basket type gifts but not up to the quality of even the 90s era name brand virtual pets.

Not a good game
Can’t see the words. Can’t understand instructions. Can’t really see the game.

So cute
Only reason I say 4/5 is because it doesn’t come with any instructions. So you have to kind of play with it to really figure out the games and stuff on there. But I bought this for my nieces and they loved it. Great alternative to tamagotchi
