midiplus Easy Piano 49 keys USB MIDI keyboard with sound

I enjoy the sweet tone and resonance of the Midi plus piano. There up to 128 built in instrument sounds though no numeric pad to access them other than counting the times you press select and the plus sign to get the right one. As for build it is solid as are the pitch and modulation wheels. I enjoy the 3 key weight options and 5 default sound settings. As a beginner I recommend the Midi plus Easy Piano. It has all I need including a 9 volt charger, USB Cable and optional Sustain Pedal. It's a really nice feel for the price, solid yet lite. Nice little gem.

I am so impressed with the midiplus Easy Piano 49 keys USB MIDI keyboard! I bought it so I would have something to play on and practice with on business trips as well as stopping to play and calm down on the way home from work. I am so happy with this purchase. I use it as a stand-alone piano mainly. But I also use it as a plug-n-play midi controller. It works exactly as expected. I purchased the "Musician's Gear 49-Key Keyboard Gig Bag, SKU 545127 000000000" for $29.99 from musiciansfriend .com to carry the keyboard around with me in the car and on trips. If you use the foam supports that came in the manufacturers box , it fits perfectly into this bag! I highly recommend the midiplus Easy Piano 49 keys USB MIDI keyboard! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I bought this as a causal medium-sized synth I could throw in the car or hack in my lab. It has 127 built-in GM voices, speakers & actually sounds & feels better than I expected. Solid keys & case. Runs on batteries or USB, has USB & MIDI connectors. Here is the downside: The pitch bend wheel is flakey (I read on line that this is a known problem), this means it can be out of tune any time & can randomly pitch-bend a little while you are banging on the keys. The manufacturer says they have a fix, but not sure how/when they will make that available. One more thing, for a future firmware upgrade...they already have the GM drums sounds, they could have added a nice set of internal drumbeats patterns for next to nothing (i.e. a little extra firmware). After realizing this, I looked & saw that low-end Casio's have all these features plus drums/rhythms for about $20 more. Oops.
