The Lighthouse 4K UHD [Blu-ray] [Region Free]

Love this movie!!!

I bought this ages ago on bluray as it seemed quite interesting (I tend to buy movies and then leave them on the shelf for a couple of years before getting round to watching them). I finally watched the movie when it came up on Amazon Prime - fantastic visuals, an errie atmosphere and great acting. I was so impressed I bought the movie again in 4k (which no doubt will sit unwatched on the shelf for a couple more years!)

This is nothing at all like Fast and Furious 7, despite what the marketing would have you believe.

very atmospheric

Arrow’s new edition of Robert Eggers’ mysterious story of two men slowly becoming dangerous to each other on a remote lighthouse provides a great new shined up version of the film for fans. Picture quality is excellent, and you quickly adjust to the specific picture ratio chosen for the film. The film itself is one to be seen and decided upon for one’s self as there are several ways to view it. The extras included are very solid, there are two commentaries. One by Robert Eggers and one by others although neither are outstanding unfortunately, but there is a 71 minute multi-part new making of documentary, plus a 20 minute video essay by Kat Ellinger and a 37 minute documentary featuring the cast and crew covering the films production and themes. Then there’s some deleted scenes (just a couple), trailers and photo gallery plus in the original release, some art cards, a double sided art poster and a booklet with essays etc on the film. Fairly good value overall just lacking a perfect score due to the disappointing commentaries.

Amazing film and blu-ray set

The dvd came in good condition in a timely manner. What a pity this wonderful movie with all the beautiful scenery and special lenses filmed on a wild & awesome coastline with 2 of the most talented incredible actors was reduced to nothing more than perpetual masturbation and dirty dreams. Surely somebody somewhere could've suggested some kind of storyline. I couldn't watch it for cringe. If kids see this garbage, they'll lose all respect for grown men and probably won't be able to look them in the face again. Lazy lazy scripting revolving entirely around the writers own perverse obsession. It gets 1 star for the magnificent filmography.

E veramente un gran bel film

This is a great transfer with interesting details. Perhaps not a movie for everyone, but quite enjoyable if you prefer the type of film that requires repeated viewing.

Afortunadamente yo sí recibí la película con slipcover, no sé si sea cuestión de suerte o simplemente algun lote no contienen este slip... de la película se puede decir que es una verdadera belleza en la fotografía, hay ciertas escenas que bien pueden ser dignas de una postal, la actuación de Dafoe es magnífica, soberbia, destaca todos esas décadas de experiencia actoral... Pattinson por su parte, continúa redimiendose de su interpretación en la saga Crepúsculo, hace una muy buena actuación, tan es así que en algunos momentos logra estar a la altura de Dafoe. muy recomendable! aunque pudiera no ser del agrado de todo aquel que guste del cine comercial.
