Great spec, great laptop
I bought this at £499, in a few days the price has increased by £80! ( tariff knock on maybe). Even so this is an excellent spec for the price, super sharp oled screen, i5 processor, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd drive. I knew it was a bargain when I saw it for a local committee i am part of, and now kicking myself I didn’t buy one for myself as well. Out of the box it needed the usual time wasting windows updates so spent about an hour doing that, then discovered that the trackpad was not working. Did some online research and found it needed an Asus firmware update which fixed the problem. I still give it 5 stars because this was a steal at the price and out of the box updates are a necessity. The oled screen is just beautiful, its fast and im sure for the general day to day use it will receive it will be perfect. Not bought as a gaming machine so not sure of the graphics capabilities.

Perfect for School and Everyday Use!
I got the ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED for my school colleague, and he absolutely loves it! The 15.6" OLED screen is super vibrant, making it perfect for both schoolwork and watching movies. The performance is smooth, thanks to the Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of RAM—no lag while juggling multiple tabs or apps. The webcam shield and microphone controls are great for privacy during online classes. Plus, it’s built with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard, which is reassuring in today’s world. It’s lightweight, portable, and has all the connectivity options you need. The durability and eco-friendly design are just the cherry on top. It’s perfect for both work and play!

Very beautiful visuals but...
Let me start by saying that overall I love this laptop. It looks very classy.Pros: very bright, vivid colours. You can and should dim the brightness a bit. OLED screen means no washed out colours, black is really black, not grey. The white is also immaculate. The colour palette is really extended. The sound is awesome, both on speakers and in headphones. Very snappy due to its fast processor. The keyboard is backlit (this can be disabled) and depending on how lit it is around you this can be a plus or a drawback.Cons: As I mentioned, in a normal properly lit or bright environment the keyboard backlit is actually bad, it makes it harder to see the keys. I press thrice F7 key to disable it. The screen being OLED and the processor ("H" type) juicing out max performance out of the laptop means the battery life is not great. Depending on what programs/games you run I think it can hold the charge to a max of about 4 hours, maybe a bit more. I used all the recommended Windows power settings and I lowered the brightness to a level of 60 (good enough), also using dark themes. There are some settings in MyASUS preinstalled software that can protect/extend the battery life (e.g. not charging over 80%) If not, the battery will drain fast. And I don't like the glare of the screen, in a bright day I see more of myself reflected from the screen than its content.Awesome price considering the specs, so if you don't mind these negatives the laptop looks and performs great.EDIT: I believed at first that the laptop is overheating. I had a few instances when it suddenly just shutdown and the laptop was hot. The problem was that I was using my laptop on my bed, there was no space under the laptop for the air to flow freely. That's why it was overheating. I placed it on a stand, still on the bed, lots of room under the laptop, now it doesn't overheat and shutdown anymore.

Excellent quality
Very pleased with the overall appearance of this “renewed” laptop. It looked as if it had been taken out of packaging and put back, no marks or scratches. It was running Windows 11 with most of the updates done, but reset to new user so no problems there. I was beginning to think it may not of been switched on but on registering the warranty I got the “This product has already been registered” as I expected this it no real problem as I am covered by the Amazon warranty. The speed of the machine is super quick with a really good quality feel to it, the only criticism of case is that it does finger mark easily (quick wipe and there gone) can make it look grubby. Graphics are sharp and fast along with the sound card that has good stereo separation makes movies entertaining. Haven’t used it for gaming yet so can’t comment yet but if it lives up to the movies it should be good.Overall an excellent buy especially with over £100 savings on paying for a brand new version. Would always recommend having a look at Amazon renewed deals, they are so well worth it. And don’t forget you can always return within 30 if it doesn’t live up to expectations.

Excellent value for money
This was to replace a laptop I bought second hand several years ago but have spent multiple times a day cursing as it was sooooo slow. I don’t game but I do use a lot of fairly sizeable spreadsheets to organise my life. It was painful! This ASUS is so fast I rarely have time to blink. The keyboard and mouse are good too but I use separate ones for 99% of the time. This item was the spec I didn’t think I could afford.I would say that some may find the screen a bit small but this is set up on a desk and is the same screen size as the previous one which was ideal for me. It looks a lot smaller as the ‘frame’ is much narrower and it’s so thin. Weighs very little.Windows 11 takes a bit of getting used to but then so did the system on the previous one. The set up was easy but a friend did help copying all my ‘stuff’ over. Like moving home it’s time to clear the attic out. Painful to see how much rubbish and duplication I have on there. This is WiFi only and we set the printer option to WiFi which means a lot less cabling. There seems to be a lot more ports too so I can probably get rid of of the multi socket thing I’ve got for the separate keyboard and mouse. Hopefully this will outlast me!The colours are amazing so this may become my device of choice for tv catch up and not my mini iPad or my aging tv.
