Just what i have been looking for, I have used this type of comb for many years on my Newfoundland dogs, but my old comb was a bit pitted on the prongs, so it was dragging on the top coat.Now i have 2 new ones and they are great, well made and top quality the prongs are rounded and so are the ends of the prongs, so no sticking in to your pets skin, the handle is great to hold even if your hands don't have a lot of strength . To anyone who has a Shih Tzu dog, one of these combs is a must, it is perfect for combing out the undercoat on these dogs which can result in matting if left. It was recommended to me by the lady who grooms my Shih Tzu when she realized I was having problems. It only takes 10-15 minutes a day to keep the dog tangle free. I think it would be ideal for almost any long coated dog with or without an undercoat
