great kit
I put this on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler during a replacement of the throwout bearing. I also replaced the flywheel with the Luk flywheel. This kit comes with the pilot bearing and throwout bearing, but I had ordered the Timlin pilot and National Bearing throwout based on other forum comments and reviews. However, the National Bearing was defective, and the Timlin pilot bearing actually looked inferior to the Luk kit part (teeth were shorter on the inside). I went with all kit parts. That was 1000 miles ago, and I have had zero issues with the Luk clutch kit parts. Many people seemed concerned about the plastic on the kit's throwout bearing - from my perspective 1) I don't think Luk would sell an awesome clutch and pair it with junky accessories, 2) it's a good plastic composite that might actually be preferable to metal (cause it rides on metal, this might be smoother), and 3) it didn't feel cheap or low-quality, it's just not metal. Time will tell if I regret the decision, but for what it's worth I saved $60 bucks or so using the kit parts and I'm not disappointed. As far as the replacement, all the parts fit perfect. Don't forget the slide hammer & puller for the pilot bearing, and you might want to get the fork pin (it's a 5 dollar Mopar part) and swap it while you're in there. Also...I'm pretty sure the dust on the clutch is asbestos, so wipe it up with a damp rag when you see it. And...I'm pretty sure the '04 Wranglers don't have the AX-15 transmission (mine didn't) - so don't freak out when your shifter doesn't rotate and pop out like most of the videos. 4 x 8mm bolts are holding it on from the top - follow your gut and just pop it out (zip tie a plastic bag around it to keep it clean).

Well engineered Clutch kit for Jeep Wrangler
My 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been making a bad noise for a while now when I start out or when I was sitting with the motor on and transmission in neutral. I had researched the problem on the net and learned that it is common. I had heard of LUK clutches before so this is the brand I wanted. I noticed that some of the posts in Jeep forums were about what people called a "Luk plastic throw out bearing". I found out as much as I couldbut still was not comfortable about installing one if it was not going to last. My brother in law is a big time aircraft engineer and I value his opinion so I asked him about it. He said that his research indicated that the throw out bearing was made of a composite material and was designed to help eliminate the problem of Jeep Wrangler throw out bearings not lasting. This was good enough for me so I purchased this one. Everything needed was in the kit and installing was relatively easy. My old throw out bearing was not the problem it was the input shaft bearing and one is included in the kit. Before I started the project I knew that the clutch and pressure plate were probably still good but the price of this clutch kit is low enough to go ahead and replace everything while I had the Jeep tore down. Everything went well and I'm satisfied with the results.

Luk clutch kit w/all metal throwout bearing
I bought this Luk clutch kit #05-065 for $110 thinking i would have to buy another throwout & pilot bearing & toss the one's that come with the kit. As many other have said they have done because this kit comes with the cheap plastic throwout bearing & cheap pilot bearing. I am Happy to say that my kit came with a quality, full metal throwout bearing and the pilot bearing is quality, as well as the rest of the kit. Pilot bearing actually has usa stamped on it. I believe all other parts are made in mexico. I have not installed yet. Bought new flywheel too. I will update later if there are any issues or just to tell how well it preforms after installation.

Good Clutch and pressure plate. Bad bearings.
Great clutch and pressure plate. I agree with others to not use the throw out bearing. I purchased a different bearing that was all metal from Advance Auto. The pilot bearing that was included was no good either. See picture. It was bent and I had to purchase a different one as well. The clutch and pressure plate was in great condition and excellent workmanship. Box wasn't bent so I don't know what happened to the pilot bearing.

Perfect clutch for a jeep tj.
I only used the pressure plate, clutch disk and alignment tool from this kit. Due to other reports of the throw out bearing and pilot bearing not lasting, I chose those components separately. That said, I saw no real visible flaws with the supplied bearings and they may have failed for others due to any number reasons. The installed parts work perfectly restoring smooth and reliable operation that is like night and day from the mess they replaced. Luk offers excellent parts at very reasonable prices and I would buy their parts again without a second thought.

Plastic
Throw out bearing is plastic not like the picture. Not happy about that. That was the part that failed on my 260k original clutch 03 wrangler. I bet that wasn't plastic and this won't last as long.
