Odyssey G5 LS27CG552EUXXU 27" Gaming Monitor - QHD 2560x1440, 1000R Curved, 165Hz, 1ms, HDR10

I have only had this monitor for 3 days, and let me tell you it does not disappoint. The main issue I had was going to be, how would I assemble this? it took me two minutes, all the parts connect easily and are firmly connected without any chance of falling apart. The screen quality is superb, it made my PS5 games look amazing bringing out the colors, with the 32" curved screen really brining me into the experience. currently it current price is a steal for such a great quality. as of right now I have no clue if its quality will uphold in a years time, but I am confident that this monitor will be with me for the next 5-10 years. another thing I wanted to talk about was its control buttons which allow the user to easily switch the display for different experiences, the fact that it is controlled with a little joystick was much more convenient than other monitors I've had. this was a great function I didn't know I needed. overall i was thouroughly surprised on how good this product would be and would highly recommend anyone buying it.

I picked this up not for gaming, but for it's nice big display size to use with photoshop, and I'm pretty happy with the quality at 1440p. It's not OLED quality colours but still really good! Image looks nice and clear with no immediately visible pixelation despite the size vs resolution. Really good value for money at the price at the time of buying - would recommend!

I suspected that this monitor (LS27CG552EUXXU) was the same as the one I already had, but with a higher refresh rate, it turns out that is not the case, and thats my fault for not doing more research. Compared to my original Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55TQBUXXU the brightness just isnt there, the colours in general are more washed out and due to the brightness this monitor can not give a thrilling HDR experience like my other Samsung monitor can do. In conclusion, I would recommend my Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55TQBUXXU over this one. It has 1440p 144hz 1ms and HDR, but when you compare the price of both £160 for this one. and £230-£250 for the LC27G55TQBUXXU it does make this monitor good value. Its a entry level, higher refresh rate which if your after a purely gaming monitor which display is serviceable but has high refresh rate and resolution, for the price point you probably cant do much better. If you are buying to watch media, movies tv etc on, I would strongly avoid and pay the extra for the Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55TQBUXXU, the panel is just so so so much better than the LS27CG552EUXXU but you pay the price. So the choise is yours. Also note that the LS27CG552EUXXU does not support 165hz through HDMI no matter the cable. ||| Comparison: Samsung Odyssey G5 LS27CG552EUXXU 27": + Cheaper + Higher Refresh Rate - Colours are worse, more washed and less vibrant - Not bright enough to sufficiently make HDR material look as it should. ~ Purely a gaming focused monitor, not ideal for regular media consumption, but will do the job. Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55TQBUXXU 27": + Display is miles superior glance, even better once you compare + Vibrant colours that POP and look amazing with HDR and bright enough to display true HDR content as it was intended - Lower Refresh Rate - Considerably More Expensive (worth it in my opinion) ~ A perfect all rounder, brilliant gaming monitor and the display is amazing. I had been really pleased with this, but then after 18 months we got the white screen of death. I am trying to get this repaired under warranty, but very disappointed as previous Samsung monitors have last a very long time. Hopefully Samsung will be able to sort this but I'm going to be without a monitor for some time depending on how quickly (or if) this gets repaired. When it was working it was a bright clear monitor, easy to set up and worked well with both Xbox and laptop.

I didn't like the monitor at first for a few reasons: -took up too much desk space -screen would come too close to my face -can definitely notice pixels So I ordered an MSI alternative, after seeing that, I decided to keep this and it has really grown on me. Once you use a curved screen, it's really hard to go back to flat screens. The main reason is the ability to thoroughly adjust the colors, which you can't do on every monitor. And for the price point, the amount of features available on this monitor is unparalleled. The only improvement I could say is 4k, which would be the G7 I suppose...
