I use 4TB SSD storage drives in my home NAS system and had been using Red SSD drives. Now that the Red SSD drives have been discontinued, I needed to find a good, reliable drive. Since this drive said it was designed for NAS, I decided to give it a try. So far, the drive seems great. It is running about 3-4 degrees cooler than the other (Red) drives in the RAID 5 array. I had no problems adding it to the array and my NAS says the new Gigastone drive is 3.7 TB vs the 3.6 TB that the Red drives are shown as. My NAS manufacturer does not have either the Red or Gigastone drives listed as compatible, but there have been no problems. It has only been three days so far, but I am currently very happy and optimistic. If there are no problems, it will be a while before I can add on to this review and provide a long-term comment, but IF any problems happen, I will jump right on and update this review.

Purchased these SSDs for my NAS. 5 months after installation, SSD started to fail one by one indicating bad cluster. Tried toubleshooting with tech support, and found 4 out of 3 of them were flagged by NAS, but Win 11 didn't. 1 of them failed Win 11 check disk and Gigastone decided to do right thing. After all, Gigastone tech & customer support was providing amazing support to resolve my issue in professional manner.

Do not use these in a NAS. Purchased 8 of these for a Synology NAS because in a tight jam. From day one the NAS fans went on high and would not go down. 5 of the 8 drives have failed sporadically due to heat related issues. The individual drive temperatures ran from 90° F to 135° F. After exceeding 135° F, they would fail. After removal, if you put back them back in they would work again until they would fail again due to heat related issues. Had contacted support, took 2 emails and 3 days to get back to me. No advanced swap option. Can't recommend these drives at all. Wound up replacing with WD-RED which have stayed at a consistent 80°-90° F and the Synology fans are back to normal.

By and far the most understated packaging I’ve ever seen! Wrapped in cheap paper and plastic is the greatest hard drive you can get. No joke! It’s lightweight, it’s fast, and it’s discrete.

I've used various SATA SSD cards from multiple brands. Honestly 8 have found nothing better using a Samsung, WD, or even this Gigastone. It's budget friendly, end it chugs. I've put them in laptops to replace HDD and PS4 gaming consoles. If you're reading around, or skeptical, I wouldn't worry to much.

These SSD's are a great option for someone on a budget that wants to upgrade their older HDD spin drive to a more speedier SSD drive.

I honestly just needed the storage capacity and didn't have my hopes up for any major performance increase... but my performance did increase... a lot. I transferred several steam games over to it from other solid state drives that were about 75% full and not rated as high-speed, and the difference was huge.

I manage to fully test this outside of my DAS with a USB-SATA/U.2 adapter tech tool. The Read/Write performance is very consistant during my endurance copy for over two hours using the external adapter. Unfortunately after installing it into my TeraMaster Hybrid D8 the behavior becomes whonky. It would constantly RESET all my USB connected devices, mouse, keyboard and THUNDERBOLT devices + Screen Flicker. basically everthing downstream ports all get effected. after removing GigaStone NAS out of my system, a few minor disk repairs signs popup onscreen but luckly no drive corruption or damages except corruption in the GigaStone itself.

I Dischi sono ottimi...anche se purtroppo il NAS SYNOLOGY DS1823XS mi avvisa che il pool di Dischi è a rischio perché non verificato e NON COMPATIBILI con questo NAS ...ma funzionano lo stesso !

Montato in un minuto su PS4 pro per sostituire l’hard disk originale che si era guastato. La console è letteralmente rinata, molto meglio di prima, si avvia in un attimo e i giochi caricano molto più velocemente. Ottimo prodotto

j'ai changé le disque dur du bureau pour un ssd 1to .Il vas très bien et et il est rapide mon ordinateur de bureau est comme neuf le prix est très bien pour la capacité comparer a des marques beaucoup plus cher. je vous le recommande .
