CANINE ENRICHMENT: THE BOOK YOUR DOG NEEDS YOU TO READ 2ND EDITION

GREAT BOOK. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a a short and sweet read that was able to give so much information in such a small amount of reading it was amazing! I would have finished it sooner but I kept putting it down to try some of the ideas. It also gave me a better understanding of dogs behavior in general. As a newer dog trainer I have recommended this book to family and some clients already.

This book provided a lot of excellent information about the nature of dogs and how to provide appropriate enrichment for them, as well as some valuable training techniques.

We are taking our dogs' freedom, restricting their movement, deciding what's acceptable behavior and what's not. It's our responsibility - and it's mutually beneficial, for us and for our dogs - to recognize their need for mental and physical stimulation, for strengthening our bonds. This book gives us many ideas on how to do it, in a succinct, easy to understand way. It doesn't avoid the "why", nor mentioning when there are risks involved. It's also supported by a Facebook group in which you can discuss details and find variations, or just share your enrichment stories (making up for the somewhat low number of pages). Just be aware that this isn't exactly a book for experts (I'm saying this because of some criticism I've seen for the first edition). However, a lot of things aren't intuitively known by dog owners - some, quite dangerous (like using laser pointers; hint: DON'T).

A fantastic little book! Its author, Shay Kelly, has an MSc in Animal Behaviour and a BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour. So you and your dog are in safe hands with the wonderful information in this book. This is the Second Edition of his already successful Canine Enrichment book and this edition has lots of extra content. Shay writes in a very down to earth, enjoyable style. He is someone who really cares about you and your dog's relationship. So you won't just find great enriching games and activities covered in this book, you'll find discussion of the everyday ways in which we and our dogs can live our best lives together.

A must read for canine companions wishing to do the best for their 4 legged friends....an eye opener and very well written, simple text easy to digest and very useful. I now ordered the next book too! Thank you

This book is great for novice pet parents and people who have been enjoying the companionship of dogs for a long time. So many great ideas, easy to put into action.

One of the best books out there on canine enrichment. The author's writing style is easy to understand and the content if VERY useful!! I'm so impressed with this author's extensive knowledge of our beloved Dogs.

I enjoyed this book. I have had many dogs and have learned a lot walking by their side and this book still managed to teach me more. It’s an easy read that is full of very good information. Your dog definitely wants you to read it!!!
